Hi Heads,

At the weekly BNI meetings I attend, one of the items in our 60 second info-mercials is to breifly explain what makes our business unique, and what makes us successful.

In the August issue of Sign Business Magazine, one of the articles opens up as quoting Woody Allen as saying:

"80% of success is showing up!"

What do you think has made you successful?
What is the secret of your sucess?

Patience, hard work, sticking to the job no matter what and never letting a job go out that's not 100%.
Dad taught us that and it still works.

Same motto as Rosemary. My main income is 99.9% internet sales. I only offer handcrafted HDU dimensional signs. No wood, plastic or vinyl. I would say 50% of the sales are repeat customers or referrals of customers.
A good product at a decent price. Excellent customer communications and delivery on time will get anyone to the top without too many bumping bruises on the way up.

sniff . .. dang, I miss Pierre [Wink]

Understanding three things:

1. I create my reality...100%!! Knowing that I am responsible for what ever happens in my life!

2. The Universe will give you EXACTLY what you want!

3. Success is the nature of your journey...not the end result!

So...am I successful? Sure!

Success is being happy with what you are doing...
even if that means getting a part time job to make ends meet!

First, the guts to start a buiss., dealing with all the "road blocks", and your friends and relatives with they're "that won't work" attitudes. [Eek!]

Then what Rosemary says !!
[Wink]
Last, never compromise the work ethic or the product ! [Smile]

Having time to yourself that you can enjoy.

Working like a dog doesn't mean success in my book, I'd rather be out on the lake!

Maui is a unique place & Maui time is a very real thing. I've been testing my patience with trades-people on a renovation on my house & I'd have to agree with Woody, except on Maui 95% of success is "showing up" because if you just do that it's amazing how many people you are ahead of already around here.

After that I would say customer service. I have been told many times that my price wasn't the lowest, but my telephone communication conveyed a genuine interest in the clients project & an easy to get along with personality. (Can't always say the same for my internet communication [Smile] )

Believe it or not...What Rosemary said... "Patience, hard work, sticking to the job no matter what and never letting a job go out that's not 100%".

Also..believe it or not..being as personable/likeable as possible.

And as Bob B. says "SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE"!

Finally, having the ability to fake my lack of "hand lettering" or "artistic abilities", by perfecting my "vectorising" abilities!!! [Smile] [Smile]

Bob just one question, if one of the things that makes you sucessful is
quote:
2. Outrageously great service
then how the hell can you say,
quote:
THE CUSTOMER IS YOUR ENEMY! ACT LIKE IT!
. Just wondering? What are you smoking?

Knowledge in what you do, and reliable service.

Having one good belly laugh a day, whether it's to yourself or shared with a customer.

And to know when to stop work to enjoy your private life.

Good post Dave. [Smile]

Success is about two things... ATTITUDE and HARD WORK. Talent helps too I suppose at least in this business.

Success is about having fun at what you do... both at work and where ever else you may be.

Success is about making your family happy and you giving them joy too!

Success is about giving a little back to society and making the world a little better place in your own way.

Success is about creating the very best you can do. Its about working with your hands and mind and putting your heart into your work.

If you can do a little of all the above each day... I'd say you are successful!
