Barb and I attended The Elvis Tribute Festival in beautiful Collingwood, Ontario this past weekend. What a blast!
For the past 8 years, Elvis impersonators, fans and friends of The King have been making the trek to this annual event. Last year there were over 70,000 Elvis fanatics in attendance. Now Barb and I have joined them.
It's a nice 2 hour drive from our home to Collingwood. We arrived just after Noon and headed for the local Legion. There were 13 venues throughout the town with 8 Elvis impersonators at each. That's at least 104 entertainers!
We had comfy seats at the Legion so that's where we stayed. A group of crazy wild women calling themselves The Jordanettes were sitting across from us. There antics almost upstaged the performance. They had the crowd in hysterics.
Later that night, we went downtown to get something to eat. The main street was blocked off and vendors were doing a brisk business in souvenirs and Elvis collectables. A huge stage was set up and the entertainment just kept coming.
