My customer(a graphic design company) wants a 2x5' brushed Aluminum or steel sign with a simple logo(4 shapes)cut out of the top half and black text on the bottom. I could have this cut by someone like Gemini and then mask and paint the black lettering.
However, they also want a 1" border and 1 line of text to be stained or tinted so it shows as a darker shade of the brushed metal with the brushed pattern showing through. Any idea how to do this last part or who might do this wholesale?

Alan...Would Avery "True Shadow" vinyl work for the darkened part?

Sounds like you need something like a Kandy. Basically a very trasnsparent automotive "paint". (I know I'm oversimplifying it Joey, cut me a break here! )
I've been thinking about fooling with some One Shot to get a "Kandy-ish" effect. Maybe some tinting clear with a drop or two of shading black and some hardener thrown in for good measure would do it . I don't know. Anyone know if this would work or not????
