I have a file on my desktop with this extension. It is called brochure. I think it is a Corel Data File extension??? How do I open it in something so I can see what it is. The shortcut on the desktop has a thumbnail pict but I can't make out what it is.

Thanks!

I have had files that would otherwise open fine in a given program, but the extension has somehow become incorrect. As long as I don't forget what it was called, I have renamed it to .cdr or .jpg
Not always but often this is the file type that was contained anyway, & allows me to open it. Also would try re-setting size of desktop icons in case recognizing the preview assures you it is not needed anyway.
If it is a shortcut, do a search on the name & find what it points to, maybe there are other .cdt files there & it's whereabouts may clue you in to it's purpose, or the original "brochure" file may be there with the proper extension.

Thanks Doug! I did try changing it to a couple different extensions with no luck. Beats me! I'm scared to delete it for fear it might be something I want or need! HE HE HE! Computers, aren't they great!

Amy, It's a Coreldraw Template file. You should be able to open it in Coreldraw. When you go to open it you'll be prompted to" open new from template". It works on ver. 9, anyway.

Must be from a higher version than I have (v8). I can't open it.

Amy..A few days ago you asked about updating Corel. This is a situation where updating is a good thing..DESPITE what my buddy Old Paint says. I will be buying version 11 as soon as it is available!

I regularly get Corel files from my local print shop (we work/refer customers back and forth)

If you don't have the latest version you get lost in the dust!!! [Wink]

Not to mention all of the fun of figuring out where yer favourite toys are now hidden!!

Looking for a font in Corel Draw book, noticed one called brochure. Could tie in to the file in question.
