Mike, can you see that thing striped and flamed with a sign shop name on it? You'd be the coolest dude at the next meet!

Hey, Shep lets see that link again to those wheels you've been building!

They are cute as a button, but I give it a thumbs down coz you can't get a 4' x 8' in it ha ha ha!

Hey, Kathy -- who's to say I'm not the coolest dude at the next meet without that thing?

Besides, have you seen what some of us drive?

Thanks Shep, I was wondering where you were. Hows your T-Rex type machine going? Had you seen those before for some of your inspiration?

Posted by Arvil Shep' Shepherd (Member # 2030) on :

Actually, Doug,
I started my three wheeler about 5 or 6 years ago.....I think the T REX came after I started.
However it is a VERY good looking Machine.
Since I am doing about 99.9% of all the work on mine ,it is taking some time and it will cost considerably LESS...
I am in the process of constructing a new Shop/Studio...... the "Scorpion " has taken a back seat....Also I have been busy building the Fiberglass 55Chevy Chairs (Maybe this winter I will be able to finish "Her"

Hey Shep, looks like it's coming along. I like how the doors open up hinged to the A-pillar, saves a lot of "door opening space"!

Do you have an estimate on the weight of that machine?

Posted by Arvil Shep' Shepherd (Member # 2030) on :

Mike,
You can park within 12" of a building and still open the doors !!!!!
It will weigh about 1500 lbs.

Let me know when you get it done Shep, we could hold a meet and teach fiberglass construction.. then build a mold of the whole thing and I can show ya how to cut the weight to 1/4th of that. [Smile]

Mike,
Thanks for the invitation, I am sure this would make for a "FUN" meet....
The way I built the "Scorpion" incorporates the "Plug" within the construction..and used most of the donor bike frame, a lot of MDO, and a steel frame with roll bar.....if it was built from a mold, and used some Kevlar, aluminium, chrome moly tubing etc., the overall weight could be held well under 1000 lbs.....
With the same engine this would be a "Rocket"
As it is now the top end should exceed 140 mph and the fuel mileage (Under normal driving ) should be around 40 mph per gallon.

I saw one of those in Hamilton Ont. this week.Riding that is the same as riding a car.If you want to ride bikes "buy a bike".

Gee, Randy. Buy a bike, that's kewl! Every accountant, real estate agent, doctor and lawyer has a bought off the showroom floor "custom" bike.
Can't you see that the Indian Chief is building something different?

Thanks Santo,
For pointing the OBVIOUS out......
In fact one of my favorite quotes is ....
"Those who dance are thought to be mad by those who cannot hear the music."

"Any thing that runs over 20 mph, and when you dismount, you have to "PROP IT UP "
well,,,,,,,,,, THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
