I have been having a hard time matching this color.

Anyone know of a paint store brand that can match the color? Two local paint stores said they don't have a deep enough base to match it. It's a deeper magenta color and I just can't seem to hit it.

Also, does One-Shot match colors for a price? I will be doing a lot of these signs which may make it worth my while.

Pat, if I remember correctly 1-Shot does make a "Dark Magenta" if that might help you.

Matthews paint www.signpaint.com does PMS paint matching. Try a shop that has a Matthews mix station

Pat, a few years ago, someone was selling a color fan deck that had PMS colors with the formulas in One Shot Colors. I think it was advertised in SignCraft for a while but couldn't find it thumbing thru a recent copy.

You might send SignCraft an e-mail and see if they recognize it.

Pat, call up 1-shot (or email them). They have a book of their "suggested mixes" for PMS colors and they will gladly tell you the ratios of the different colors. Tom is the tech guy there, and he has an assistant who can usually help as well. I'm not at the office, so i don't have the number, but you can look it up from www.1shot.com ("contact us" section).

Thanks all...

That dark magenta is close Cisco but not quite the color. The problem is that this company has offices in three or four states and their criteria is somewhat strict.

Scooter - I did wind up caling One Shot and spoke with Tom! He graciously gave me the mix...4 parts 154L Dark Magenta (Cisco) 2 parts 165L Rubine Red and 1/10th part 115L Dark Brown.

Didn't think about Matthews Rick. Good idea for future work, but these signs are all MDO and that paint might be overkill. I like the suggestion tho...
