Hi Heads,

For all those wishing there was a FREE Letterhead meet with FREE food for the first 30 registered attendees and located in the center of the USA, well there is.

It will be in the tiny tiny town of historic Atlanta, Illinois on the July 12 13 14 of 2002.

We had a meeting today (Sunday June 2) to dicuss the food, the panel jam area, the wall dog brick wall sign, and some of the demonstrations, yada yada yada.

The little town of Atlanta looks like a midwestern town that time forgot. Since Route 66, the original Route 66 runs right through the center of town, they would like to have an ongoing Letterhead head meet to literally PAINT THE TOWN in period 1920's look, only in "Letterhead Style"

Belive it or not, this little community is host to lunch and "old car tour" coming from FRANCE, with rich Frenchmen who want to haul their vintage cars over to America to travel down the original Route 66. This happens in August.

We so much wanted to paint huge murals on the walls of buildings surrounding the little park in the center of town, but it was to much work in too little time.

So, the idea is to have a mini Letterhead meet this year, and then, while you who can attend will see the big picture we want to do next year, and each year after, until the entire town is "Letterheadized."

This should be TONS of FUN and the community of Atlanta is paying for the party, organizing all the details so we just have to show up and do what Letterheads do....drink beer, party all night long, and of course, do some painting. [Smile]

Three signs shops appearing in SBI magazine last year will be represented...Prairie Signs, Diaz Sign Art, and me are working hard to make this a neat little meet and a stepping stone to greater things next year. One sign shop has been in the pages of SignCraft...Ron White of Barnett Signs in Decatur, Illinois. Couple other shops are chipping in their talents and resources also.

Look for information about the meet on the "future live meets" page.

We hope you can all come or be there in spirit as we keep the craft of sign painting alive.

More updates will follow, and hopefully a picture of the building we are painting on and the sign we are going to paint on it.

Until then,

Dave Draper
