Hope Someone can help me with my little poblem.
I am going ahead and making the plunge on a new gerber edge 2. Of course I ordered the 4 procees foils with the machine. What other foils would you suggest purchasing with the machine. 4 more process foils? or certain spot colors?
I only have enough cash left for about 4 more foils... What would you pick..?
Ken

I find that my most popular colors are:
Tomato GCS-13
Black GCS-12
Cobalt Blue GCS-37
White GCS-10
Green GCS-186
Intense Blue GCS-47

In pretty much that order...
My super process foil movement is twice that of my spots, but since you have a set...

Good luck on your investment. It's a superb machine.

This is also relavent to me as I am too buying an Edge now.

I have included 10 foils in the price, after the popular colors that have been mentioned what would you recommend to compliment, more spot than process?

The spot colors I seem to use most often are:

Black
Ruby Red
Cobalt Blue
Olympic Blue

Also, you can often print with only CMY and still have a very good looking image. I tried this with a 11.5"x24" process print that I make about 300 of each year. They look great this way and save me close to $400. Too bad I didn't try it after I'd done around 200 of them....

I've also skipped the process black foil on at lease $25,000 worth of prints. I have used process black in place of spot black on occassion.
I use a lot of white for car window decals. Have you signed on the dotted line yet Ken? I didn't think of bargining for foils when I got my deal sealed up, but I was pretty happy with the deal. I have heard of folks getting a dozen or more foils "thrown" in. Any color I use I like to have a backup. Nothing like having a machine that can easily knock out several thousand dollars worth of RUSH decals only to have your material run out. I guess that is more of an issue on an Island with no edge cartridge supplier.

Just wait until you see the plaids, Neil! Available in 20 of the most popular Scottish Tartans!! The most popular in testing was the MacFrugal one...

Hiya Ken,
No one mentoned white. If you plan on printing on colored vinyl, you'll need a white primer to print the other colors correctly.
We started with the process colors, black & white. Our clients picked the rest of the colors for us.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

Really some Neat Effects with this (New Foil).

I hope you guys don't mind that I a'm posting a picture from the outcome of a sample print that I had done....

Marble/Tartan/Pattern work.

It works for me...................

Showing that with enough Imagination it can be done.

Back to someone else point if you have not signed the dotted line, I received 2500.00 worth of credit towards supplies.

Yep. Donald was the guy I remembered hearing that from. Wish I'd thought of pushing for that kind of incentive to choose vendor A over vendor B!
