This poll had nothing to do with signs, but it is a great chance to have some fun and experiment with the BB's new polling feature.
I'm not a fanatical hockey fan, but here in Southern Ontario, everyone stops what they are doing when the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the playoffs. This may be because this team has not won the Cup since 1967. Whatever the reason, I find myself glued to the tv every other night cheering on the Leafs.
There are now 4 teams left. The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing Glen Taylor's Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado is set to meet the Detroit Red Wings. The winners of these games will meet to play for the Stanley Cup.
When it's all done with, who do you think will win the Cup?

Go Canes!

It will be interesting who will have the honor of being slaughtered by the Wings, Carolina or Toronto. Good gritty teams though.

Toronto over Detroit. Now there's a series. The players could pedal to the other city on the off days.

It seems nothing is going to stop the mighty Red Wings! I would love to see Carolina go to the cup, but I dont think they can handle the wings.
by the way, Steve when is this poll feature going to be available to us shmucks, says I am not authorized...

Where's Hurricane Fran when you need her?!

Gotta root for the Canes, because they've got my favorite ex-Lightning player. Kevin Weekes is a terrific goalie and a class guy. Met him when he was here. I have a signed picture of him hanging on my office wall right next to pictures of me with Walter Gretzky (Wayne's dad) and me with The Stanley Cup. I also like Ron Francis and Rod Brind'Amour.

It's the year of the Canadian (as far as hockey- woops, excepts the Worlds that just ended).
They took the Olympics and they will take The Cup.

This new Letterville Poll is a great tool. A far better tool than my brain has been lately. We're looking for ideas for new polls. Right now, we are the only ones who can actually post a new poll. If there is something you want to see asked, please e-mail us the poll question along with possible answers.

Been on the road the last few days with little free time available. Was able to catch some of the game and ensuing “hoopla” Thursday evening! Congratulations to the entire Red Wings organization and fans. Awesome team effort and some great individual plays mixed in there also. An appreciative nod to the worthy Canes as well. First three games (or should I say four counting all the O/T) appeared to be the best of the bunch, for myself anyway.
Time for new poll, who will win Lord Stanley’s hardware in 2003?
Go Lanche!!

Dan Jenkins (author of Semi-Tough) said it best many years ago. "What hockey needs is a 5,000 lb puck. Two teams, East Coast and West Coast. They play one game per season, whatever ocean the puck ends up in, that team loses."! To each their own, but if ain't got wheels and a motor, I ain't into it!

Dan Jenkins is an idiot. Like a lot of American sports writers, they can never understand the artistry and skill of hockey, something the Red Wings exemplified this year. This from a town that knows a lot about wheels and motors, Ben.

Humor, David, humor! Besides, how great can hockey be if Canadians are good at it???? (OK, I'm gonna go hide in my garage until this one blows over!)

Doug
Curling is the greatest sport.....you have to play it to really appreciate it........I can't figure out why Americans love baseball so much.......I'd rather watch paint dry........Hockey is a great game too, played lots of it growing up.
"Ultimate" is what I'm playing this summer......it's a great sport too.......growing very quickly in popularity.
