I got some anchor mask that I used to cut on the Allen Datagraph no problem, now I am cutting it on my Roland cx-24 and it just aint cutting it. I set it to cut "heavy" and force at max with a 60* blade and its barely cutting it. Anybody cutting this stuff on a Roland?

Ken..I tried it once on my CM 24 ..no go!!! might as well have put in a pen and "drawn" the pattern and used a knife to cut it. In fact that is what I ended up doing..manually cut the mask following the "scoring" of the 60 degree blade.

Rolands are great..but the desktop Camm 1's are better suited to cutting vinyl.

(THAT is the very first public statement by me AGAINST a Roland cutter!!!! [Eek!] [Eek!] )

the cm-24 now cx-24 are not roland pro machines...these only have a down force of 200 grams....the pnc-1100 i have and the 960 and i thought the 950 all have a down foce of 350g....only roland PRO machines have the heavier downforce....

I have a Roland PNC 1000A Camm 1, And it seems to cut Sandblast Resist fine for me.....One solution for complicated designs is to set the downforce at about 75% and set the machine to cut TWICE..I have used this Roland for over 8 years without any problems....(So Far ).

Hi Ken,

Ditto to what Arvil said about cutting the design twice. Pain in the a$$ but it beats cutting by hand... [Cool]

Ken, please tell us what number the the mask is. Some of Anchor's mask will not cut at all on any machine. Anchor gave me some of the new items to evaluate for them.
Anchor 130 and T227 is excellent for plotter cutting. It is used for HDU and glass etching.
Anchor 116 and 117 is a bit tougher, but, can be cut on the plotter, it just does not cut all the way through and sometimes may require two passes.
I am running a Roland PNC-950 CAMM-1.
