I was told to use a water-based paint like Deka for painting a banner, but can't find them locally or even whether they are being discontinued by the manufacturer. Any suggestions? I'm painting a dark blue fade on one end and a white fade on the other, then applying vinyl graphics.

I normally just apply a coat of Tycote or OneShot vinyl primer to the banner (it dries clear). Then, I either spray or roll on OneShot lettering enamel. I've never had a failure.

Thanks for the reply Glenn!
Just did a search here and found the same question answered only 4 days ago. Sorry, I've been away and haven't kept up to date with the BB....
Would SuperFrog's Sunscreen Clear work as well? Any suggestions on where to find Deka?

Alan....Deka's plant is in Morrisville, VT. You might give them a call. Possible that they have some stock left there. If so stock up on whatever they have left!

Try Denver Sign Supply 1-800-735-7446. They gave me a list of what they have left. No black or white but some blues, chrome yellow, vermilion, im gold, violets, clear, coral.

I'll go with the ti-cote as I have some in stock for this job. However, I found Ronan Aquacote water based sign enamels at the Dick Blick site. Anyone know if these are similair to Deka's?

Frog Juice is not recommended for use on banners. If you're airbrushing, try Createx AutoAir paints. I just buy enamel receptive banners.
