I just heard that Bob Burns may be evacuating his home and shop. There is an out of control fire less than 2 miles away. Good luck to you Bob....you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We're still here! The wind died down last night, but it's supposed to kick up again today. I'm waiting to hear more news this AM. But so far....so good! Thanks for your prayers.

Glad you're OK so far. Been there, done that with the fires all over FL in 1999. It's no fun especially breathing the smoke.

UPDATE: The fire is STILL out of control....but "contained". Sounds like doubletalk to me, but I'm still not on fire, so all is good, so far!

THEY'RE MAKING THIS FIRE A "HOW-TO" IN FIREFIGHTING! THERE ARE A COUPLA THOUSAND OF THEM HERE NOW. TWO BUSLOADS CAME IN OVERNIGHT FROM CODY, WYOMING! THE FIRE IS SOMEWHAT CONTAINED, BUT STILL BURNING.....WE'VE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR WITH THE WIND. IF IT STAYS CALM, THIS MESS SHOULD BE UNDER CONTROL BY SATURDAY, GOD WILLING!
