These colors (get em green and bright yellow) are what the wife picked out and the paint and supplies have already been purchased. (OMNI AE acrylic enamal, MH 101 Hardener and MR 185 Fast Reducer)
Want to work with the airbrush, but wonder if a spray gun would be better. Also, would like to put some highlights on it to make it pop off. (stand out)
How would you lay it out? Thought about using a projector and trace, or apply Scotch Plastic Tape directly from the projected image.
I think this image is a bit bold and busy at the same time, any suggestions?
Working with a friend on this one, for barter.

Since you already have the image in the computer, the easiest way to lay it out would be to pen plot a pattern, then preforate it and then pounce it on the truck, wipe it down before you use it on the other side. You're gonna need a spray gun or a small detail gun for basing this job, that's waaaaaayyyyyyy to much are to try to do with an airbrush, you might be able to do it but it would take a week Save the airbrush for the high lights. As far as the design, the back half looks great , nice flow to it, the front part could use a little tweaking.

Ahhh Shucks, for the life of me I can't get the image to appear here, nor can I get the hyperlink to work... It does seem to work if ya copy and paste it to the search bar.
Thanks George, you're right, the front needs some work, and a bit heavy at the door area. As for spraying, should I do the base coat in yellow and fade the green over it?
I'm curious what colors to use for shading and highlights, will black and white work? I'd like the edges to have a bit of a round appearence.
Are OneShot paints compatible with the OMNI automotive paints?

Hello Cheryl, I've got a number of concerns...first, are you sure that they don't want any lettering on the truck after its painted? The way its layed out, there isn't any room for lettering.
Second, the actual spray painting of this job, with catylized acrylic enamel, is the job of a body shop pro, who has experience with spraying such material for several reasons...without good protective equipment (respirator mask, etc) you can do a number on your nervous system. Also, an area this large will need to be sprayed with a full sized gun with care not to run the product. Then is the question of whether the grapics will get clearcoated for extra gloss.
Third is the question of basecoat. Will these colors go over the eggplant color or over a white basecoat? Such colors can be rather transparent and what's underneat will likely effect how they look when finished.
I suppose you could project the image right onto the side of the car, you could also make a pattern. When I do this sort of thing (I design and tape off about six or more a year) I just refer to the design constantly, taping right onto the vehicle with 1/4 inch fineline tape.

They already have lettering on the tailgate and don't want lettering anywhere else.
Thanks for the heads up on the 'nervous system', we'll take care to wear the proper gear while spraying.
I had them paint a panel for me when they painted the truck, I'll do a test before we get started.
Still wondering if this OMNI paint is compatible with OneShot. Have lots of OneShot colors for shading and highlights...

Cher, all the airbrushing I've studied, it was told to me to go with the darkest first and then to lighter.
