Those of you with Hotmail accounts might want verify "your" Personal Profile preferences. That is, to share EMAIL and REGISTRATION information with other companies!!! (SPAMMERS)

There was a recent mass update that reset your settings which allowed spammers to start flooding you.

To verify "your" preferences in Hotmail:
Click Options. (right side in top row)
On the left, under "Your Information", click "Personal Profile".
Scroll toward lower part of page, below where you have entered your personal information. By default and without your knowledge, both the "Share my e-mail address" and "Share my other registration information" options are selected.

To quote this selection area:
You can speed registration and get personalized services at participating sites by sharing your .NET Passport information with them when you sign in.
Choose how much of your .NET Passport information Microsoft can share with other companies' .NET Passport sites at sign-in:

x_ Share my e-mail address.
__ Share my first and last names.
x_ Share my other registration information.

If you have these checked as above you will get tons of SPAM, and disgusting smut, porn and body part enlargment emails.

Uncheck them and that should start the trend away from said SPAM flooding. Sheesh. You will find that hotmail is moving towards a paid mass storage site..
