I'd like to pick some brains I lay my proposed designs over photos imported into Signlab and usually print out these out for veiwing but now I need to send some designs email Thought I could save the Signlab design and export it into P/shop to lay over photo and save copy as jpg but no joy ! Can't get my design into P/shop
How can I package this Signlab design to send
Thanks all
Terry

Yes you can.
First set everything up in SignLab (To your liking) Next convert as a Bitmap profile around 150 DPI-to_300 DPI.
Save in a seperate folder.
Now if you use PhotoShop or Illustrator Etc.
Open in this program and convert to a JPeg, Bitmap or Tif file to work with.
My Edit is the simple fact that files in BitMap or Tiff File will come across in a crisp image more than J-Peg
SignLab is Great for the basic set up. and the Fun begins after that.
Don't know if this is what you wanted but I thing its along the same line of whats needed to set it up.
I will help on more in this matter if this is the subject you are talking about.

Hiya Terry, The easiest way I found to do such is to hit the print screen button while signlab window is in front and maximized. From there, you can create a new document in photoshop and paste it in the new document. Crop and edit as neccessary then save as a jpeg for for easy viewing. It should work... Havin' fun, Checkers

I don't use signlab so don't know what the export filters are ... but EPS or AI your design then you can [file->place] said design into ps right over your picture

I'll second Checkers' response..
Set up your artwork on screen how you want it, then hit the Print Screen button. This takes a snapshot of the current screen and puts it in the clipboard.. You can then paste it into whatever software you are using.
This is about the easiest way of doing it and it's handy too.. plus you dont have all these AI's, EPS', WMF's etc etc layin around your hard drive just confusing you as to which is the most recent version of the design.
the best part is it always works no matter what programs you are using.

Good Response Mike
Learning how to save to P.D.F., Export, Distill and also fax by Windows and open in whatever... I too have the same file in five differant versions and don't know wich is which!
My question is, how do you keep them separate but still know they're in there for future applications?
Is It simple file housekeeping or what. ( I won't begin to talk about Corel "backup files" )

hahahaha Mark...disable the backup file thing!!! it just annoyed me so much that that is what I did. Ya don't need "make backup on save"..go to tools>options>save and uncheck "make backup on save".
Depending on what you feel comfortable with set your "auto-backup" to 10 or 20 minutes. Also..you can specify where the auto-backup stores the files. (trust me on this..Auto-backup is a GOOD thing....Repeat...Auto-backup is a GOOD thing)

Thats why I luv ya Dave
These backup files have been bothering me ever since you got me going on this Corel thing.
It has been driving me nuts!
No more weekly house cleaning, just a setting thing!
Now...When you have the same file in five languages, do you keep them in the same "client folder" or do you have a P.D.F., or Jpeg. file in Corel seperate.

Mark, when I have the same artwork in different formats, I keep them in the same folder so if I do ever need the file, I know right where it's at. I also use the same filename for the same artwork, 'cept for the AI, CDR, EPS, PDF etc etc extensions of course. I might even put additional folders under a client's main folder, say if I have X client and I have artwork for business cards, t-shirts, brochures, flyers, vehicle graphics, etc etc.. I'll add a folder with the name of the use for that artwork, ie: bizcards.. or website.. or t-shirts..

oops ... my bad, I thought when the question was asked
quote: export it into P/shop to lay over photo and save copy
I thoght that meant he wanted to paste a design "over" a photo in PS
DOH!
I have one file named killme.eps on my drive that I export to for this purpose over and over I only save the full size gerber plt file and the layered pds render ... the jpg goes to floppy to send in e-mail (different computer) ... the killme will get replaced the next time I do this on a different job ... and I do a LOT of this
