i axed bronzo on the post he did the old signs...no answer so ill post it by its self. i would like to know what your offset setting is on your rolands, also do you have to change it when you go from a 45 degree to 60degree blade and where to set for both so i dont get that little connection left after cutting where the blade starts and stops cutting that line.

Joe the offset is the difference from dead center on the axis of each individual blade to the end point tip of the blade.If the blade is ground at an angle this can vary due to the fact that the tip of the blade may not be the same point that the blade cuts through the vinyl. This can vary from blade to blade and even vary if the blade wears well for a length of time.Some programs will let you change the variable within the software to acount for the difference so the plotter can cut more accurately.I would think it is something that you wouldn't notice till you cut very small copy.As for a set number, that would be in the plotters manufacturer specs for the blade and any after market blade manufacturer's specifications.
Oh yea,...it may vary when blade holders wear after years of use as it is usually measured in thousandths of an inch,much like bearing clearances.

Joe...My CM-24 uses a blade ofset of 0.25 mm for both the 45° and the 60° blades. I don't change it at all and have no problem with the cuts not meeting.

Hi Joe, I have a CX-24 and find that the 0.175 offset seems to cut the most accurately. In particular with small lettering and fine graphics I find the curves to be super smooth. With the 0.250 factory setting when you look closely at a curved letter it seems to have slight imperfections.
