Just uploaded this site I built for the little league I coach for and could use a "constructive" critque. This is the first site I've ever built based on a dreamweaver template (so others can update without screwing everything up) The server they had me put it on seems slow to me. The whole opening page (graphics, javascripts, and all) weighs in at less than 60k but seems to take a few to kick in ... does it do that for you?

wow -- i had no idea little league was so complex!
the site design seems nice and clean, and the RHAA logo and baseball graphics are very nice. i didn't have any trouble loading the site (i've got DSL connection). my only criticism is that the main body text is fixed width -- i had my browser window set narrow and the text didn't adjust for that (you can set a maximum and a minumum on that). i shouldn't have to resize my browser (or scroll horizontally) to read all the rules, for instance.
Otherwise, it looks appropriate to the organization -- not too flashy, but not dull.

Looks nice Mark. Very professional. Had no trouble loading at 45333 bps connection. Only took about (7-10) seconds.

I have an extremely slow server Mark, and it loaded in just about 10 seconds. Looks good too. Logo is really nice.

HMMM... your window must be pretty narrow Scooter. I gave them a 600 pixel table for content that will center between the right side and the menu (which is 120 pixels) ... so no scrolling should be needed (sideways) at a regular 600x800 res, and not have too much dead space at higher resolutions, yet keep everything uniformed looking

Mark, the site looks GREAT but I do have a few suggestions.
I'm running 1600x1200 resolution and because the body text is set to center on the page, there's alot of dead space to the left of it. I know the average user is going to be set on 800x600 (I use 760 pixel wide tables and layers on my site) but for the few that do run higher rez it looks a little off.
You might want to consider using layers instead of tables, this way the layout is static no matter what resolution the user's screen is set to or what size window they are using. Everything stays in its place.. you could even center all the content on the page then use a complimentary background for the space around the content.
You could also use tables nested within other tables. I had my site setup like this before.. the navigation on the left always stayed the same, the links on the right side of the screen stayed the same, but the body copy in the center changed width to fit the window size or screen resolution.

It loaded almost instantly for me, and I use netscape and a 56000 modem. The text was all perfectly centered, with no scrolling.
Great job. You sound like a very dedicated dad/coach. Like Rob C would say, "good on ya!"
