had a political science course in college, one of the stories in the classbook was about the upscale police dept in some va. burb who used their siren to much....so the took away their siren but still let the "boys" have their guns....

Before this thread goes any further, my point about had and has nothing to do with guns. My point was that something seriously stupid happened in my town and our local newpaper didn't cover it. Imagine my surprise when I find out about it on a website halfway around the world. It just makes me wonder what else we're never told (from a local perspective).
