Hey heads, Quick question. I have a window lettering job to do at a chiropractors office. The window has white blinds on the window. I have it set up using white vinyl as the outlines on the logo. Should i change these to black due to the white shades behind the window? The primary copy in the logo is red, but the outlines are white. Thanks for your responses.

If you were doing white lettering only, you would want to change, but seeing that it is just the outline, leave it white.

According to the Energy Regulation Board of the United States. ALL glass is to be pre-tinted from the factory! Viewed from a distance,most windows appear DARK to start with. Regardless of what color blind is behind it. If color combinations were approved from the start you would be correct. IF complaints arrive...color of shades need to be changed,NOT LOGO hope this helps

The key question here is, will it be lettered on the outside, or on the inside of the glass. Most glass today is tinted so much that if it is on the inside, white looks more like gray or grey. On the outside of the glass, the white will look very white and the tint in the glass will turn the blinds to gray or grey. Stay on the outside.

If the white outlines of the logo are PART of the logo design then I'd put a black outline around that.
About 6 years ago I installed white vinyl lettering on a storefronts windows (applied to the outside). Three weeks after install the owner of the shop put some very pale green verticle blinds up and the white lettering "disappeared." We ended up putting a dark outline around all of the letters but installed this vinyl on the inside of the glass. The white letters "reappeared" and a really cool dimensional effect was achieved. Thanks for all the valuable info. Yes the logo will be installed on the outside of the glass. I am going to stick with white. I figured if worse comes to worse i can fill the inside of the glass with a black pattern or somthing (similar to what Brian had mentioned) Again I appriciate your guidance. Thanks, Ryan

White outlines always look good on windows without blinds. once those blinds close...your just gonna be lookin at the red logo....which should still stand out pretty well, assuming the blinds are white. I would think you'll be alright with those colors.
