Here we go again...
Got four of them in this morning's mail....some had from:'000' some were warnings (fake) about the virus.....something with Klez worm...whatever....

My AVG software caught them all...but still......it makes me mad!!!!!

I think it's coming from someone getting email addys off this board as most of them looked like they were sign related biz's.

Not that it was started deliberatly, of course, just one of those nasty things that gets into email accounts..just now I got one 're: please try again' from 'freddcsign@flash.net'

Don't know if that's OK Fred, but I could be on his mailing list as we've exchanged emails before.

Also got a message from a sign shop down the street who I know has been in email communication with me in the past, & probably has my addy saved online. It said HONEY as the subject line, but had no message. Have not heard back yet weather this was sent by someone, or automatically generated. I have Norton AV & tend to trust it, but have had no alarms yet.

I did a search for "Honey" on Norton's AV (Symantec) site. It brought up the new W32Klez virus and specifically indicated "Honey" as one of the many known "Subject" headings, so I downloaded a Klez removal tool from Symantec It says no virus were found, so that is re-assuring but I still wonder whats up with that email

Just ran Norton/Symantec live update this morning as well as yesterday. Both times there were new virus definitions to download. Hard to believe that somebody out there has so little to do that making up new virii is their main purpose in life.

Without the people writing the virii around, the folks that write the virus protection software would be out of jobs.. Doesnt that make you think? Hmmmm? Talk about market security.

Anyway, check out this site.. These people write virus protection software, but not only do they sell the software, they have free downloads AND for anyone that cares to read the directions, they have manual virus removal directions for almost every single virus out there that doesnt require a purchase. The following link will take you right to their list of the most recent virus threats.. You'll notice there's often two new buggers out every week.. they also have a list of email hoaxes..

I just got about 6 virus infected mails all today and the first for ages....one from Pierre StMarie Graphics another from EliteSigns Inc, another from tammthm@aol.com all these sent to henry@signcraft.se I only use this address here at Letterheads....people should check thier virus updates

This Klez virus isn't pretty. I spent my whole day cleaning our network of this sucker (20 computers). Looks like I'll be finishing it on Sunday [Frown] It's a very slick one....slipped right by Norton. The dang thing doesn't even need to be executed if you don't have Internet Explorer patched with the correct fix...it executes itself.

If you don't have Norton or Macafee try this free one, so far it's caught every virus that has come my way...

Yep me got it too, It has made its way downunder and spreading like crazy. Nasty piece of work, I have had 5 or 6 email of it and one got in the system. Picked it up with AVG available free from www.grisoft.com. Update now.
