I sent about 10 blades for my Iodline to Bits and Bits. It was about 2 weeks to get them back. They are sharper than when they where new and no problems with them at all. If you are in a hurry for them send them overnight and have them send them back overnight air. Fastest way to do anything anymore.
Bits and Bits did me good im very happy with them.

It took me forever too. I know its not the fact that I'm in PR cause I order stuff from the States all the time. They did a good job, though...

Ooops,
Sorry is all I can say. With Taxes, and 2 machines down we are way way behind. The normal turn around time is 2 weeks. Please hang in there I promise the wait will be worth it.

Hey Paul,
How many times can a bit be resharpened?
How can I tell if a bit is unsharpenable? (is that a word?) [Eek!]

I have a batch to send right now.

Oh Yeah...can y'all sharpen carbide-tipped router bits too? I have a few of those that need a good honing.
Thanks

Hi Wayne,
It depends on what kind of plotter and or blades you have. Most blades can be 'resharpened' a couple of times. Some, like the Ioline can be done over and over again. The only sure way to tell if a blade cannot be resharpened is if the tip is broken off, or just send em and we'll check em.
Paul
Almost forgot, sure send the routers, I'll take a look and see.

This is interesting.....I've never had to change a blade in my Summa D620 since acquiring it 5 years ago........cuts the same as the day I got it..........either I have some sort of super strength steel blade or I just don't cut any where near what you people are cutting.....reshapening 5 - 10 blades is incomprehendable to me.......that would represent 25 to 50 years of use.........I don't get it.

Paul,
My machine is an Ioline and my router bits are Freud. Do I need to remove the bearings before sending them and how much $$$$$ to sharpen them?

Hi Paul,

Do blades need to be separated according to their angles when one sends them to you for resharpening, or can they just be sent as a single bunch? I have about a dozen Ioline blades of various angles I would eventually like to have you do.

Thanx.

John Martin Robson-
Same here with my Gerber Envision. Haven't changed the blade in 2.5 years. Still cuts like new. My Ioline blades last about a month to six weeks.

Joe P.-
I always read about how Oracal "eats" your Roland blades. It wears out my Ioline blades a little quicker than say an Avery A5 or any 2 mil cast vinyl but..........I've cut at least a hundred 50 yd rolls of Oracal 651 with my Gerber Envision and I'm still on the original blade. I believe the problem is not the vinyl so much but rather the blades and blade holders.

I definetely find the intermediate films harder on blades, and any mylar...

I'm cutting with my original blade in my Summa D60 which I purchased 2 years ago. I've been cutting Calon II and Avery A8 and A5 as well as a bunch of reflective, which I figured was going to eat up the blade. The blade cuts as well today as the day I got the machine. I have 2 new blades ready to go when I need them. I probably don't cut as much vinyl as some of you guys, but it is cutting every day. I have gone thru 3 pens(markers) from running pounce paper, though.

Hey guys, Sorry I was busy sharpening stuff and just got time to visit here. Ioline blades are no problem. No need to separate the angles, but if you want us to pack them in different boxes please write a note requesting that. As for the router bits, YES please remove the bearings before sending them. I have heard from customers that Oracal does indeed wear out blades faster.
As for price? Since we have not done router bits on a regular basis (no time) send a few and I can call you with a price.
