Saw the Dr. today, gave me a purple fiberglass wrap cast....

Orders are : no work for 2 months...cast change every two weeks...can't walk on it, only balance myself on crutches with it.

(It's the 5th metatarsal, not 1st as i thought.)
the x-ray
the deck where I went through
and...my tootsie after they took off the splint today

So...I'm in a wheelchair...bored silly....trying to keep from being depressed....weather outside is gorgeous...cool breezes, sunny skies...and me stuck indoors with daytime tv.....

Mass Mayhem is totally out of the question.. [Frown] ..Dream weavers..?..dunno yet, but not likely I can stay on my feet painting all day....I can sit and shout orders though!!! [Wink]

Trying to keep things in perspective...it could have been worse, way worse.

Thanks for all your kind words..at least I still have my computer and this BB! (Much better than daytime tv)

A:)

Get better...gotta get ya a bullhorn I guess!..just in case!

Adrienne- here's what you do. Think of that wheel chair as a tool. If you get it on a downward slope and hold a striping brush at the right height, you could stripe a car in no time flat.ZOOOOOOMMMM!

Looks sore [Frown] Hope you feel better soon. Catch up on your reading. Learn a new program? Learn to carve?

Hang in there or we may flood you with some jokes.

Oh Adrienne, that does look painful! Sorry to hear!

Hey, do you think you could rent a bucket wheel chair and get those kitchen cupboards painted up? No excuse for lack of time now. [Smile]

Wishing you many daytime reruns of the 'room for a pony' show for you!

Wow A, you do it right and no half way about it.

Pop on here for a quick look at how the gang's fairing and BAM~ A's down for the count. Good thing ya didn't need pins nails and needles to put it back together! Besides the chip it looks like a clean break, eh?

However- it sounds like the pain killers could induce a new branch of art themes for ya? Back to painting on canvas... maybe space scenes with flying cows? Purple Frogs and Orange Lily pads? And I never did LSD... could you imagine what I'd see if I DID? Yikes! [Big Grin]

Hope it mends well for the Micro Meet! If Doc still has you in the chair for that meet can we stripe your wheels? [Wink]

The wishing you well side of the Moon

That sure looks like its intended to slow you down. Can you drive? Could you travel? Looks like time for some water colors painted laptop style. Everything is budding and blossoming and it's a nice time for Grand Canyon. Make little paintings to sell at street fairs. You could really use this as an opportunity. Convalesce gently.

PS. if you need help with any sign stuff you've already committed to, please allow us to help.

it could be worse but i am glad that it's
just a broken bone in your foot & not your
hand or a busted skull. get well soon.

Thanks everyone....the new cast makes it a little easier to get around the house...

I'm not in a lot of pain, just uncomfortable.(why does it itch so??)

And since I'm supposed to keep it elevated as much as possible, it makes it difficult to sit and paint or do paperwork, let alone computer stuff.

Aaron Haynes of Aaron's signs in Napa has offered to help me with the signs I've already got a commitment on...that's a big help..thanks Aaron [Smile]

Ooops!Gotta go! I'm missing Martha Stewart!!

A:)

Hay Hay A!

Since you're in a wheelchair, let me offer my services as a Professional Wheelchair Wheelie Coach. We used to rent medical equipment so I do know the proper techniques & can offer both basic & advanced instruction.

We'll start ya off easy with the basic wheelie and in no time at all you'll be able to start & stop in both forward & reverse, turn right or left on the fly & even do spins while never touchin' those front wheels on the ground. The only time you'll have to set 'em down is when ya get in & out. That's right, you too can amaze yer friends & neighbors just like the pros. I'll even show you how to avoid the dangers of a high-speed rollover in an off-camber turn (ask me how I know) [Smile]

He called the other day to say he turned it into his insurance......he even admitted the deck was bad.......
