Looks like my adventure to New England isn't going to happen....

Yesterday whilst watering flowers on my deck...I stepped on a rotten board and went right through it.
That resulted in a bad abraision on my right thigh and a broken metatarsal bone in my left foot....
So, I'm in a temp cast, strict orders not to put any weight on it, I'll see the podiatrist who will put it in a hard cast....till it heals...which my be a while.....

So.....I can't drive, walk, work, I'm so ****ed....I've been complaining to my landlord about that deck for years....he's like Pa Kettle...."Yeah......gotta fix that one of these days......"

Time to call Jacoby and Meyers.....

A [Mad]

Well, that's a hell of a note.
If there's anything I can do, let me be a resource for you...I'm three minutes away.
(EVERYTHING in Benicia is three minutes away)

Sorry to hear about your accident! I am lucky, and have never broken a bone... Treat it well and hopefully you'll be as good as new soon!

Sounds like it is time for you and maybe your lawyer to sit down with your muttonhead landlord- my landlord recently replaced the decks on my building because the window installers wouldn't work on the existing decks (30-yr old steel frames, plywood base...). Before that I wouldn't go out on it!

All the best- fare thee well

That sucks, I know the feeling of being in one of those casts, a couple of years ago I fell off a scafold fractured my wrist, couldn't use my hand for a few months.
Now a couple of weeks ago, I slip and fall coming out of a store, landed on my shoulder, more embarrassed then hurt (at the time), they asked if I was ok, I got up and said I'm ok. Ah but that night and even to today, I'm still in pain, went to the doc, had x-rays, nothing broken, they said I had damaged some tendons. They give me some 800mg of Motrid for pain and inflamation, ah if they give you any of that becareful, I ended up in worst shape, that stuff tears away your stomach lining, I stopped taking it, and it took a few days to get over the messed up stomach pains. Life's a trip sometimes huh?
Well I wish you the best, your landlord will take care of the deck now, if though he's late. but hey when your all well and healed, if you need a ride to the BANK, let me know ? [Wink]

The spring weather must've brought the "klutz" out in a lot of us. I slipped the other day and took a big slice out of the side of my foot, then last night i slipped and fell down a set of steep steps, now my arm is all black and blue and scratched up and of course I had to bang up the side of my foot that just started to heal!

A, OOWWW!

Hope you start feeling better soon, I've done the intense pain thing before and it's not any fun.

There's a good law firm in your town, I just looked them up online.. Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe. [Smile]

Seriously though, I hope you can get yourself compensated for this somehow.

So Sorry to learn of your misfortune. When throws lemons at ya, make lemonade! Get yourself a cool glass of it and relax in the sunshine, but not on that rotten deck, and enjoy those pretty flowers. I'm sending Mel to help pass away the time! Wishing you the best, but you can't keep mel.

Oh No, Adrienne! I'm so sorry to hear of your injury! We're already havin trouble here, hubby broke his hand last monday, and he's sending off the money we had put back for my Sydney trip to bills. We have 5 more weeks to go here...not sure how we're gonna get through it.

Good luck with your case! I hope you are fully compensated. Please stay off your leg so it can heal faster.

You can try some Arnica Montana for the muscle spasms, swelling and the pain. No side affects like your tummy getting eaten out.

We'll keep you in our prayers!

Adrienne,

what a big disappointment! I was really looking forward to meeting you and chatting with you on the ride to the meet.

Hey, if your still feeling adventurous come on out to Mass Meyem and we can all paint yer cast!

Heck when you get your settlement check invite us all out to Cali and we'll have Mass Meyhem 3 West Coast style. [Smile]

Yikes! Take it easy Adrienne. It must be the time of the year or sumpt'n because I copped a rock on the shin from out the back of the mower on Friday afternoon and spent the weekend hobblin around. [Razz]

Stephen, take care of that finger. It hurts to look at it.

Stuff like this really gets on my nerves...I feel for you Adrienne.

My advice...

get other part of decking and smash the landlord around the head with it.

Get well soon

Adrienne,

gives a whole new meaning to "putting your best foot forward..." [Embarrassed]

Back in the 70's, wrestling manager Captain Lou Albano removed a cast from his arm to pummel Chief Jay Strongbow. Might make you feel a whole lot better if you try this move on your landlord...
[Razz]

Okay, I'm feeling real silly tonight. I only intended to wish you a speedy recovery... [Big Grin]

A, sorry to hear about your hurty and discomfort and need to alter plans. Chicken poop sure can rot boards, huh? Looks like time for major re-do for web site.

Bringing sharks into the pool seems like it should be a last resort, not where to start.

Work on healing without anger or blame. It happened. It's not necesserily someone's fault exclusively.

Yo Adrienne!
Sorry about yer boo-boos. At least you could paint your toenails a pretty color, and imagine the signatues you'll get on that cast when you finally can get to a meet! You can be the next Baby Doll! Chin up. I'll say a prayer for ya. Stephen too.
Love- JILL

Aw crap.
We'll miss you at Mayhem Adrienne.

I automatically pictured that deck being on the second floor - thought you were saying you fell all the way through to the ground. I'm relieved you are not hospitalized with more serious injuries. So do what you need to and maybe you can come on out east when things get better.
