I need to find the type of J channel they use on bus advertising to hold the styrene or coroplast signs in place. We are going to make a large digital imaged sign on econolite to mount on the side of 8' x 28' construction trailer. This trailer gets hauled from site to site for installing underground cabling. The 7' x 10' that the sign goes on has about 400 rivets on it. The sign frame/alucobond combination will save us a whole lot of installation time and improve the look of the image.

The J channel on the local buses is 1 7/8" x 1/4" x 3". Does anyone know where this stuff comes from? I would prefer a source in Southern Ontario but other parts of the planet would be OK.

Chuck, the first place I would look locally would be a glass store or hardware store that sells mirror brackets.

If that doesn't work the second place would be McMaster Carr in Los Angeles. http://www.mcmaster.com/

Good luck! Vic G

Chuck

Contact EM Plastic. in Toronto or Acme Plastics.

If neither of them can help you then call
Alcan or Renyolds in Toronto as they make Alumium extrustions of all types.

Hope this helps.

Hey Chuck,

I am a Graphic Artist for the City of Albuquerque Transit Department and I design a lot of busboards. The person who has the contract to print and mount them on the buses would probably be able to help you. He's a real nice guy too, just give him a call and I'm sure he can help.

His name is Don Templeton with Templeton Marketing here in Albuquerque. His phone number is (505)898-3757. I hope this helps!
