Hi all this is the late nite news with the latest update on the "Flights of the Kookaburra".

I could not remember how to post pics on the BB and my technical advisor was unavailable so I was going to email Monte and started preparing some pics etc but it kind of developed into mini web site (my first effort) so please be my guest and follow the link http://www.bundybadges.homestead.com/kookaburrahome.html to follow the homecoming last leg of the great adventure.

Leesa, Katie's 2 sisters, Hannah & Emma, and I drove to Brisbane yesterday morning, (Tues 28th) to avoid the Easter holiday traffic. We spent a very pleasant evening at a motel overlooking Morton Bay and about 20 minutes drive from the airport. The weather was uncharacteristically, overcast with intermittant rain showers, not what we generally call normal in the "Sunshine State" of Queensland. All went smoothly and the little Kookaburra chick is....Well you will have to follow the above link to the final picture to determine her present status.

Thank You all and I can positively announce, mission complete, the Kookaburra is safely back in the nest.

It was apleasure meeting Kookie at the Spring Fling. She's a sweet girl with a lot of personality. Thanks to her Mom and Dad for doing such a good job raising her and having the trust to let her spread her wings with a bunch of crazy sign people.

i see that the great yellow/black karate bag is now in OZ full of goodies.. Im glad she is able to use it..The Paks Karate logo made it to another country. Thanks to Katie... such a fine lady.

Was she able to haul all those treasures home with her???? She must have had a ton of stuff by the time she left!

She looks well rested, but glad to be home...any live Peeps make it with her?

I thought I was the only one nukin' peeps. I also nuke marshmallows, they get huge, then take them out and put in the freezer till cool and flat. Taste like my childhood favorite Turkish Taffy. Haven't had the guts to try my vegemite yet.

Katie came in with one piece of luggage weighing approx 30 lbs and a backpack probably 10 lbs.

When she got on the plane in Dallas she had her piece of luggage (it weighed 40 lbs)and the gym bag (it weighed 60 lbs) and the back pack it now weighed around 20lb and her new sign kit (compliments of Terry Colley of Stockport England)(it was stuffed to the gills also)believe it or not we have only a few posters to ship to her...everything else made it home with her.Including a bottle of Catsup and at least a dozen stuffed animals.

oh...and atleast 15 lbs of assorted american candy.The girl has a sweet tooth (in case ya didn't notice). [Smile]

Glad to hear that the Kookaburra made it home in one piece!! I hope she had as good of a time with us as we had with her. I'm sure she is lagged out for a while, but she'll be good as new in no time.

We all are better people here now because of Katie. She made an impact on all our lives. Hopefully she'll keep up the good work and come back and see us sometime on her "next flight". We miss you already "Kooky".

Katie, get caught up on "uni" and then you can come back!! [Smile]

Hi! everyone ... Leesa here (Katie's mum)

I would just like to say "A BIG THANK YOU" to everyone who was a part of this great adventure for my daughter Katie.

She has been home now for just over 24 hours and I am so glad that she arrived back safely (I missed her heaps) and that she had a terrific time.

I haven't heard all her stories but she talks fondly of all you wonderful people that she has meet.

So from the bottom of my heart .... "thank you" god bless you all, take care and happy easter [Smile]
