Well we finally got a new Soljet from Roland... Pretty cool so far, a lot slower than our Hifi Jet, but really good stickers so far. The contour cutting is alot faster than I thought it would be and so far dead on for accuracy. I will keep you posted as the days move on! WooHoo!

Hi Eric. When you say "slow", what kind of speed are we looking at? I too am looking at large format and speed is the main key. What kind of speed was your hi-fi outputting?
Thanks.

Bruce, According to Roland website Slow in this case in photo mode is 4-7 sq ft / hour depending on whether it's in unidirection or bidirection mode .
What's the print quality like ??
What's the operating cost per sq ft ??
Any problems/ issues with Ventilation??

Slow as in about 24x36" print in fine2 mode, bidirectional, (540dpi) about 30 minutes or more. Quality is outstanding! Did some 1" round stickers with type that is amazing. I am still figuring out the price per sq. ft. but my initial guess is about $2 to $3 using premium cast vinyl. And there is no smell that I or my wife can pick up! The ventilation issue was what sold me on this machine, seeing as how we are right next door to a coffee shop!

Hi Eric.
When you get your printing costs figured out, I would be curious to hear what they work out to. I have heard that the ink and media for this machine are a little dear. Is it true that you have to print on coated Soljet Certified Media?
