I received a call yesterday afternoon from a church that wants a red 30 foot X 30 foot banner, red with white lettering. Only 4 lines, the letters will be 5 to 6 ft. tall.
Anyone have a source for this kind of thing?

Thanks

David,

I would just make this banner yourself.

Talk to a banner wholesaler and get their advice on weight of banner and sewing details for the application that the banner will be used for.
Mcullough banner (a letterhead merchant) would be a place to start and there are other companies out there too.

Design it like you would any other banner. Cut vinyl and apply with part of the banner exposed at a time with a detailed drawing with measurements on hand.

Some here would advise to paint it, that would be a viable option too.

Either way, this a job you can do and make good money at. Good Luck

Hey - Have done a few similar banners here for the casinos in Tunica - -I thinke the Largest was 22' x 65' - -just treat it like any other job, do it in sections - -like other post said - have plan in hand - there's your measurements to start with - left&right - & go from there - it's not as hard as you think if your used to laying a lot of vinyl......it does help to have a large layout table - -maybe a friend or two to boot - although I have done them alone - I'd rather stick to 4x6's or 4x8's though - -did two 4x8's today & did bust one water pipe - diggin post holes - lucky for me it was just an irrigation pvc - took more time to go buy the parts at Home Depot than it did to fix the line - Carl

30x30ft!!!!!!!! 6ft high letters! Wow !!! That is getting the word of God across in a big way. Where are they (and how?) are they going to hang it?

I get all my banners made by a company that makes everything from tents to 1/2 acre covers for grain stockpiles. They weld all the seams. And remember, even with 6ft wide material you are going to have 4 seams thru it!

Vinyl on a banner that size? No Way! Material cost prohibitive. Even with a 48" plotter you gonna have to section it. Paint it! That big. I would organise my banner supplier to let me use the floor space in their huge shed. Mark it up using pounce patterns or scaled drawing and paint it flat on the floor in Vinyl screenprinting inks. White on Red? OK, put black in the white. It may look "grey" in the pot, but covers two coats and looks brilliant white when you are finished.

Whatever you do, cover yourself in the quote and get some sort of payment up front!

best of luck! [Smile]

I'd do the banner on the floor in sections. I'd use white material and work from a scale drawing, laying out the letters with stabillo. I'd mask off the letters with tape around the edges and fill in with application tape, then roll the red on with a vinyl screen ink. The stuff dries fast so you could do the next section in an hour or two.
