If you plan to do any amount of gold work, buy your leaf by the pack (500 leaves) rather than the book (25 leaves)!!!!!!
Keep an eye out for a sale or special...and grab some! When buying surface leaf, i don't worry about brand, it doesn't make much difference, unlike "glass leaf" that is used on windows! How you burnish it is more important than the brand of surface leaf.

Michael I know it is German Leaf but don't know the name. Si would you be willing to let me in on your burnishing techniques. Always looking for new and better ways. I definatley a rookie in the gold area.

The price of a pack hasn't gone much over $300.00 in the last 5 years or so.
