I am planning on putting on a demonstration for any interested folks.

My question is "what would you like to see?

1) Surface Guilding
2) Power Tools Tips and Tricks
3) Fast, Simple Faux Effects (woodgrain, marble, granite etc.)
4) Roller Blending
5) Something Else?

I am willing to demonstrate some of the above, but I would like to know so that I can bring the appropriate supplies and tools.

Also, I thought it would be informative to see other folks' work orders and contract forms. Maybe we could all bring a sample of the paperwork that we use to run our shops so that others can have a look and maybe learn something.

What else have you got in store for us John?

Pat, Know I won't be making the meet, but if I was I'd like to see how you made the rolled PVC banners for your park sign. Combined with the carving demonstrations, that should make for some real nice dimensional pieces. May fit in with the Gilding and such too for a great joint project.

Nev:

I cruised to your website to see if I could see what (my brother) Santo was talking about. I couldn't. Do you have a pic that you could post here?

Also:
The Java on your nav bar didn't seem to be working and the link to MF's SOTM is dead.

PS -- You do really beautiful work!

Thanks Jon...

here's the pic...

Thanks for the broken link reminder and compliments on my site. I don't know why the links don't work for ya...they seem fine on my end. Which browser are you using?

MSIE 6.0

It would be cool of you would give us a step-by-step based on your presentation - just a thought.

Pat, you're going to have to forgive, Brother Jon, I got the brains and all the hair, he got the good looks.

Jon, you gotta work around to asking kind of sneaky like. Just a tad more sublety and then the beg, comes in.

Pat, how's that lady from Chalemette? Have you ever been to Rocky and Carlo's? Can we get a little step-by-step, can we huh?

Santo, have you been to Rocky & Carlo's when they are fighting in the kitchen? What a trip!

Pat, all of the above plus what Santo requested. That sign is beautiful. I hear that the rolling of pvc can be done w/ heat gun? I am also looking forward to tool tips. There was a recent thread about cutting ovals that was great. Helped me a lot. I thought it was just that I couldn't use my jigsaw well enough yet. Instead of more practice I need expert knowledge.
This is gonna be one great meet. I just got permission to bring my grand-daughter. She is starting on her panel next week. She will be 11 years old on Tuesday and says she is not that interested in signs but loves art and is good. What you want to bet she will get hooked on signs at the meet?

Italians don't cook or play cards without fighting the whole time.

Whew,,,,, just got back from Jacksonville (FL) getting some supplies. FINALLY finished my indoor sandblasting booth. It has a 2'x 6' customer viewing window. The booth itself is 4'x 12' walk in. So, anyone wanting to learn to sandblast HDU, glass or ROCKS now is the time.
I have on hand 1/8" and 1/4" PVC sheets for crafts projects, bending, ribbons, etc. Not one gold leaf company has yet to contribute any leaf products but, I am still trying. The HDU folks are being very generous. Especially, Evergreen Molding that makes EVERWOOD HDU. They kicked in TWO full sheets!! 1-Shot was very generous in the paints, GEMINI sent a LOT of sample letters & stuff, Anchor (Intertape) sent some S/B mask. Our buddy here Victor Georgiou kicked in some software. West Systems epoxy, SignCraft sent oodles of books, Doc Welty sent a case of LetterHeads magazines. Plus, I have purchased some AWESOME doorprizes!!
Okay, I have 30 days of work to get done in 14 days, 18 hours, 42 minutes and 13 seconds !!!
Ya'll come see us, now, ya hear ?!?!?!?

With all the professional TALENT at my meet..... I am quite sure you will get to see and participate in most, if not all, of Pat's above mentioned catagories. Make plans now . .. cause, I only have 10 pounds of GOOBERS !!!!

Thanks, Roger!!!
As you know, contributions from merchants like yourself make most Letterheads events more attractive. I thank you for the generous donations you made to Pat King's Duck Soup meet. Now, your donations to mine is most gracious !!! What size tee shirt do you wear ??
Oh, yeah, I did enjoy the pics of your hotrod !!! I recently restored a 1930 Buick sedan, 1950 Chevy panel van and a 1938 Packard sedan. Currently, I am looking for a 1936 Ford pickup for my next project.
Sure wish you could make some of the meets here.
Good luck to ya !! (( I started using Rapid Tac way back in 1990 when it was like $40.00 a gallon )) [Smile]

I am definately interested in any carving demos. There were a few different styles , & techniques shown at your meet, Pat. The HDU sandblasting sounds good too. I've never done any teaching myself, but would be willing to show anyone how to operate a quill. That's a lettering brush for any new sign artists. [Smile] I could give a demo on being a smart a$$ also! I'm real good at that.

Thank you John, for letting us be a part of your meet !!

Oh and (though not a 36) there is a "GREAT" deal on a partially completed 34 p.u.(NICCEE ONE).
Find it at www.hotrodhotline.com !!

Glad you liked mine !!
