has any of you had dealings with these aholes? or is it only here? about a year ago they bought out or took over the COMMERCIAL PLASTICS company.
1st off they made it so you had to buy $50 or more or nothing. then they come up with only credit cards or company checks..NO CASH! i go there today to buy some corplast....they dont have any!!!!!!!! wont have it till next week and the price is going up by $4 a sheet. i think that ge is buying up company's and closing the doors ..did the same thing to monkey wards......

Joe..GE Polymer bought out Cadillac Plastics up here about a year ago..So far things are unchanged. Same friendly faces behind the counter. They will take credit cards, company checks, debit cards or cash. Hell who WOULDN'T take cash? Cash doesn't bounce. But then who would pay with cash, if they are running a business?? I like my reciepts for income tax time too much!!!! LOL (I have been known to lose cash reciepts...cancelled cheques or credit card statements are less likely to be lost!!!!!!!! LOL)

We have one here in Memphis too, can't say a whole lot good about that one either, although it wasn't all that hot when it was Commercial Plastic, I never pay for anything with cash either so I don't know about that one, plus how the hell do you get out of a place like that for less than $50??? I never liked the service???( the last time I was in there it took twenty minutes to get waited on) which is why that was the LAST TIME, too many other good suppliers out there at the end of the phone. I have one favorite that even has a location here but since they aren't a merchant I won't give them a plug. Until this one opened we never had a sign supplier worth a darn in Memphis, most any supplier can ship in a couple of days and since I'm not doing open heart surgery there is never a rush. Aggravation is one thing I WILL NOT put up with if I don't have to.

had the same problem here. They changed the name....changed all the rules.....you couldn't order over the phone...and stop by and pay by check....you had to use your credit card. So I said SEEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. and found a new place.

I guess they arent interested in making money.

I just completed an order over the phone with these guys......no problem......but I'm still very loyal to EM Plastics as they are my major plastics supplier.

Joe,

I apologize for the inconvenience and I understand your frustration. I am assuming the branch you contacted was the one below.

4922 North Davis Highway Pensacola, FL 32503 FL 850-474-0555

I am sorry that I can not sell to you directly. I am located in Southfield, MI and we do not carry any material besides some samples.

Again I am sorry about the inconvenience

Question = ok, there is a company here in pensacola used to be commercial plastics, now it goes by GE polymers.....iam a small sign shop and have bought products from here. well since your GE COMPANY has taken over, i cant buy anything with cash, have to buy more then $50 at a time or cant buy anything. now i went today to buy corplast sheets....and you dont have any because of an inventory. asked when they would have any, she tells me next week. and i ask if i wanted to pay shipping on the stuff it would be $50. then she tells me your new prices for corplast take it from $7 a sheet to $11 each. ok so you dont want my business and many more like me. if your not going to make your services available to the market why dont you just close the doors like you did with MONTGOMERY WARD. i know this will fall on deaf ears since iam really a nobody as far your large corperation is concerned but it gets damn discouraging when iam tryin to make a living and you dont seem to want to be in a SALES/SERVICE business.

Cadillac Plastics, Edmonton, Alberta have gone GE Polymershapes, also.....I can confirm that they are just the same as they were...just fine to deal with. I still deal with them, but 'what a funny, long name' it is now.
