I need to apply some white lettering to the back of a clear glass panel and then paint the backside black. Any suggestions as to which would be the best paint choice? Can I just spray it with krylon and be ok? Thanks.....

Don't use Krylon. You are asking for a world of aggrevation if you do.
I use Nazdar's all-purpose ink for that kind of job. It will adhere to the vinyl and the glass without much problem.

why glass..you lighting it or do you need to see thru it somewhere? just good old one shot black will do the job......

It will just slide into a display frame, not backlit. I could just put some black vinyl back there, but I hate the look on the edges of the lettering. Rolling a coat of one shot is easy enough. Would a latex adhere just as well?

You could lay down black vinyl with the lettering cut in reverse on the glass first then fill in the lettering with white one shot or deka. but make sure the glass is clean(as if you were gilding it.)watch for knicks and scratches on the lettering side and the vinyl must be perfectly transfered onto the glass especialy the corners because you could get leaks. if you were using oil based paint to fill in ,you could seal the lettering with frog juice brushed on lightly, eat lunch then fill in with one shot. good luck!!!
