Thousands of fonts but stuck in the rut of recycling the same combinations?
Lets hear the combinations that you know work well together for certain situations.
Please, no more "All Caps Brush Script in an arc with a shade" stories.
I'll kick off with University Roman and Optima for a sign outside a church a little while ago. University for the main copy and Optima for the sub-copy.
Shelly Allegro and Benguat for a hair dresser, Shelly for the name and Benguat for the sub-copy.

None of these are intended to be for showpiece jobs, just food for thought next time you're stuck for ideas in front of the monitor.

For something big and bold I like Futuras or Antique Grotesque accomodated with a nice script like Snappy or Magic (sign DNA).

I like to use Bank Gothic too for secondary copy.

I use alot of Antique or Washington type bold fonts with scripts like snappy, Magic or Arid a bit too much. I am trying completely 'off the wall' combos lately and it is great fun. Seems like we get in a rut sometimes......and it is hard to bust loose!
