Congrats go to our Gold medal winners! Seems they had to fight 2 teams on the ice... 13 penalties, 8 consecutive calls, almost half the game in the box... What was that?

Yeah the officiating was brutal, but we prevailed!!

One down one to go.

Lets hope our boys can do the same.

It was pretty obvious that referee from Utica had it in for us Canadians. We were the least penalized team in the entire Olympic series. And why would the Americans 'decorate' the floor of their dressing room with a Canadian flag? I thought we have always been a good neighbor and to deserve a little more respect.

I don't normally get involved in political posts but sometimes the disrespect hurts nevermind the economic penalties of trading with the US.

I Agree totaly Marty, I'll tell you I had one post done up on this subject... and I deleted it.
The disrespect shown to Canadians by the Americans involved in this Hockey was Shameful. No Excuses! I wonder how the Men's is going to come out.

All doubts would have been eliminated had they chosen a referee from a neutral country which is usually what is done! Could have gotten the French figure skating judge. She was available!

If that's true about the Canadian flag, the US team should have lost 20-0. There's no reason for that type of thing. Congratulations to the winners.

Congratulations to the Canadian Women's Hockey team. They deserve their victory.

And I agree with Dennis about the Canadian flag. Shameful behavior if true.

I hear that the Canadian women are going to autograph that flag for the Americans as a consolation prize for not wining the gold at home.

I thnk the American dressing room decor(m) turned out to be a psychological motivator for the Canadians. Kind of like waving a red flag at the bull.

How could the Americans wind35 straigh including bething the Canadians 8 times then come up short in the only game that counts? Plus they had a seventh player on the ice the whole game!

Maybe the American women should consider taking up a different sport...how about curling?

That is a hotly disputed story about the Americans having the Canadian flag on the floor.
Sounds to me to be a ploy by some on their own team to get them all fired up. Come on, can you really believe they would do that? Of course, this is the only attention women's hockey gets and seems rightly so.

Look at what Gretsky is doing to generate some hot blood on his team. "The whole world hates Canada and wants us to lose". Is he serious?
Who hates Canada? The U.S., well that's another story.

You're right there, Dave...

Who could hate Canada?!? Not me... I think that there is more to the flag story than we know. All I know is that the Canadian womens hockey team desereved to win, obviously, because the scored more goals.

I can remember many instances where a heavily favored team lost because they just came up short. The U.S. team got outplayed despite the pitiful officiating.

Way to go Canada! Hold your Tim's up high in salute!

Have a great one, eh?

Who ever wins, lets just hope that it is fair, and Not influenced by Officiating. And since that the womans game was refereed by an American I think it's only fair that this game should be reffed by a Canadian, What do you say! GO CANADA GO! GO CANADA GO! GO CANADA GO!

Folks, no one should disrespect any other country. As a whole I think Americans respect and love our "northern neighbors." It was wrong but for God's sake we are talking about HOCKY players here! Men or Women they all have taken too many shots to the head!
