The guy I'm currently doing some work for has a bunch of cut out lettering to do for a job and the customer is very sensitive about the longevity of the gloss level on the finish of these letters. After talking to the guy that is going to be doing the cutting, he has suggested using 5mm UV treated Forex. Anyone know if or how well this stuff will accept different types of paint, for example automotive finishes? All info appreciated. David

Hi Dave, I have used 10mm "Celuka" which I believe is the same material for cut letters and just sprayed them with straight enamel. That was about 2½ years ago and they are still fine and they face the north. the edges look a bit rough (as in not smooth) probably because I didn't fill them with an undercoat but from down below you just don't see them. I attached them to a besser block wall with liquid nails and they seem to be doing OK. Hope that helps.
