Any new rules I don't know about? I didn't think it was offensive or anything.
I've never been fond of OT posts so maybe the rules have finally changed.
It may not be what you fear.
I tried to post a couple times in the last few days only to have it vanish. where did it go????
But if we post something and it doesn't go the the BB then where does it go????
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I got your five bucks right here.
Have a great one!
I posted a guestion about where your post went, but that was deleted also. I did get an email explaining that your post was deleted because it was "political" & mine was deleted because my "answer" was provided in my email. Maybe we are not supposed to discuss it? Is it a new rule about posts with political content?
It's good to see that not only the airports are beefing up their security.
I read it, and it sucked! I am glad Steve deleted it!
Discussions are great, but not vicous attacks! Especially when Steve had just posted the policy stating that such crap was not allowed! That post amounted to a slap in the face to Steve & Barb!
Just my humble opinion!

I tend to have middle of the road views. Does that mean I sit on the fence ready to be swayed by popular opinion? I don't think so, nor do I subscribe to a right or left wing, or conservative or liberal thinking to the point that I can filter information based on what "camp" it came from.
I may be gullible or naive in some ways, but if I find provocative information, or dis-information as the case may be, it makes me want to pay attention. I have friends & aquaintances (sorry, not in my dictionary ) who range from very politically educated patriots to paranoid conspiricy theory radicals. I admit I would probably not spend a lot of time verifying the claims made in that post, but I enjoy dropping "have you read this" types of claims on a variety of folks to see what I can learn from the variety of reactions.
It seems from most replies to this thread that everyone else but me already knows that Michael Moore's "claims" were ALL lies. I thought the Enron business was looking a little messy for GWB, & wanted to find out who the author was, (not sure I even remembered his name correctly ) & what "7th largest corporation" he was talking about. (7th something, I forget & can't check now)
I have no desire or ability to debate politics. I am interested in further discussion about Letterville policy.
quote:
The Laws Of Letterville
- We require that you use your full real name as your username and include a valid e-mail address. We are a community here, and use of an alias is discouraged. In either case, use of a signature file that automatically signs your posts is always required. Your signature should include your real name, company name, and your location.
- Vicious personal attacks will not be tolerated. Treat others in a professional manner. We are a community. Use of the \"Golden Rule\" is strongly encouraged.
- This is not the spot for commercial advertising. If you have a product our users should know about, please call us about becoming a Letterville Merchant. Blatant advertising will be removed!
- The Letterhead WebSite, Letterville, and the Shortreed Family strictly prohibits the use of this site as a means to request copyrighted artwork and fonts. Please respect the copyrights of the designers and foundries. If you feel compelled to \"steal\" from those people, please go to another site to do it. We do encourage all designers using this site to build the cost of fonts and clip art into your project's costs.
I can only guess that "Vicious personal attacks"
is the law that was violated, but I didn't see it that way.
If Mike Pipes is correct and new "security" measures are now in effect, I am fine with that. Tell me the rules & I'll play by them.

I have nothing against OT posts in general. As a community, we have other things going on in our lives beside the biz, and we should be able to talk about that here. Unfortunitly, when it comes to subjects such as politics and religion, it has always resulted in bringing out the worse in posters.
When in Letterville, we ask you to wear your Letterhead hat. We come together here as a community of signmakers and/or small business owners interested in preserving the best of our craft's past and to share our knowlege in an unselfish manner with each other. Any topics that serve to divide us along political and religious lines are not necessary in Letterville.
Having said that, we also recognize that politics and religion are very important to many of you. We urge you to find an online community that is setup to debate religious and political debate.
As the owners of Letterville and the hosts of this on-line meet, we have the luxury of running the The Letterville BB in the manner we see fit. It's our goal that everyone attending this meet feel comfortable posting without fear of being called names or any other form of personal attack.
I apoligize for any confusion that exists. Over the next day, I'll edit the Laws Of Letterville to better reflect our posting policy. When in doubt, pretend you have the microphone at a live meet and think before you hit that post button.
Having stated that, I'm a big boy and can handle points of view that run counter to mine. I don't like having my meals cut up for me.
If a post is not profane nor an unwarranted personal attack, I believe that it is wrong to censor it.
