Middle of last week, I had a customer call for a new vehicle (GMC SIERRA 1500), He wanted lettered with his logos.
I normally do all my applications in my driveway (no garage).
Today was a really nice day considering it is Feb. 3rd in Atantic Canada. Application went very smooth as my wife and myself washed, cleaned the panel area for the vinyl graphics.
All was done, except applying 3M sealer...... My driveway is of gravel rather than ashpalt.
Sealing the edge of the graphics on the drivers door wraps,I went to the passenger side only to slip on the ice build-up (In my own Driveway.)..
The entire bottle of 3M sealer went up in the air and (Into my Hair!)
Lots of Laughs!!! (Yah! Me Too!)
AFter trying to clean it with Varsol, Alchohol, Shampoos, Etc,.. I'm hoping I don't loose all of it! The customer liked the finished job & I may have to post a new look of Myself..
Oh! what fun this business is!

Hey man.....I can relate! I have a carport also. And the first winter we were in this house, I had just painted a bunch of MDO. In the middle of the night I heard a big gust of wind blow 'em all over. So.....I now use mostly intecel and polymetal in the winter.

What is the purpose for the edge sealer?

Well I was lucky! after shampooing with varsol and hair Shampoo I got it all out.
At least I didn't wake up this morning with the pillow glued to my head! or didn't change colour on me as well.
Rick I use the sealer at the door edges. The under lip (inside lip) were alot of grease, salt, oil and dirty build up takes place,it helps stop the vinyl to start lifting at the ends because of this.
That was no fun!
Didn't even get any pictures as I was running to fast and cursing to LOUD all the way to the Bathtub.
All I hear was the customer saying Yup he like the finished job and he paid my wife and took off! He must have thought I was mad at him.
