yea you can make it i just did one this week.
I did it on opaque plexi glass acrylic face. you have to put the tracking on your self useing a template for the proper spacing. it comes in 8' and 10' sections. There are tops, commons and bottom peices. you will only need 1 top, 1 bottom but the # of commons(both top and bottom) will be determined by the # of lines you have.the top has a lip that overlaps more than a bottom. remember that the letter slides up then sets down in the tracking so the spacing is very important.so use a template the size of your letter.
now on the plastic you glue it on with a product called "Weld-On" is is like water but cement the tracking to the acrylic face.(the face i used was flat but you can buy coragated plastic faces).the glue should be used with a neddle bottle.to apply just the right ammount in the right place ,or you will have a mess on your hands. But if you are using MDO or Duraply plywood you will have to drill holes and use tiny screws. remember the hols should be bigger than the screw for expansion. and don't tighten so tight to crack tracking!.
the letters come in sets depending on how many you will need and different sizes and typ styles.

mark up all you materials 50-100% then add shipping and labor(estimate 2-3hrs to se tracking..making teplates ect.) don't forget to make a profit!

When we build these we use a "thickened acrylic cement". It works great. We get it from GE Polymershapes here. I would think that most acrylic suppliers would carry it. It comes in a squeeze tube similar to oil paints, but has a narrow tip. You just squeeze a bead of the cement on the back of the track, flip it over and stick it down. Usually you will need to either clamp or weight the track down for a few minutes (they come rolled up pretty tight). When we get the track we immediately unroll it and wedge it between a couple 4x4s for a day or so to help straighten them out. Good Luck!
