anyone know of a site where you can get clothing with sign painter graphics on them already. I like wearing stuff pertaining to my craft, and so far all I can find is your occasional t-shirt for a workshop etc... They're okay too, but limited. Thanks. Buddy Norris buddynorris@netscape.net

Gosh.....doesn't PKing sell those splatter overalls? Those are cool! But seems like every pair of jeans and overalls I have all get paint splatters, roof tar or truck oil all over them in no time.

While I'm thinking about it, if Steve or Barb can send me the Letterville logo (12" wide at 200 dpi), I'll screen some shirts at cost for him to sell for this site.

i ware white painters pants that i get from my paint store and white colered shirt with my company name above the pocket and buy those from a uniform supply company. shure they get paint on them but the customer sees a uniform not jeans and a t- shirt.

Maybe some of you guys(&gals)should design a "line of sign clothing" I'll pay a royality, have them made(with quality construction)and offer them thru my network of suppliers!
Hey, yeah, great idea !! With special pockets and compartments(for things like Rapid Tac stuff)...

Personally i like blue jeans or shorts, sneakers, and a T-shirt compliments of Roger! Thanks again for the shirt.

Well..............I have a thong that says "The Chisel Stops Here" on it.
Posted by Joe Rees (Member # 211) on :
Glen, you would? I think a Letterville T-shirt would be super. And if Letterville made a couple bucks on them, that wouldn't be so bad either.
Posted by Glenn Taylor (Member # 162) on :
Joe,
I'd be happy to. All I need is for the t-shirts themselves to be paid for. I'll do all of the color seps and printing for free.
Posted by Ralph Lyon (Member # 2351) on :
If someone wants to design a full color design, we can heat press it on nice Tee shirts. Costs depend on QTY'.
Posted by Ralph Lyon (Member # 2351) on :
Sounds like Glen is offering a great deal!!! I'm in. Posted by Harris Kohen (Member # 2139) on :
Hey Pierre,
Is that the same thong that Steve Shortreed was modeling awhile back?
Posted by pierre (Member # 1462) on :
Yeah, but I had to cut it down!
heh
Wait a minute.................that doesn't sound right.
Posted by Tyler (Member # 2093) on :
I'm in on the letterville shirts too, I would love one or two of em. And as far as your post, pierre, I will just keep my mouth shut. you do collect rifles afterall. Posted by Linda Seymour (Member # 1904) on :
Yup, sounds good to me! By the way, thanx for the 'rapid tac'shirt Roger, pitty I can't buy the stuff here. We have something similar made by Viponds.

PKing Duck Creations Offers a full line of "signmaker" clothing! (he he he Thanks for the plug Cheryl) OVERALLS: For the paint slinging walldogs APRONS: For the vinyl applicators....with pockets TOTE BAGS:For tool and material carriers ACCESSORIES:Tennis Shoes,Belts,Ties, etc These items will take the guess work out of who you are and what you do for a living. I find it handy for on site identification as to "you MUST be the sign guy I need to meet with"
These items are individualy designed(no 2 alike)with One Shot flourescent paints.
Seems to me that Barb(Mrs.Mayor)has a pair of the overalls. Others have aprons given away as door prizes. Some have bought Tote bags for thier personal use as designer wear.
I will try and get in contact with Roger to help distribute these items

I wear either meet or rapid tac shirts, unless it's cold in which case I wear a sweatshirt.
Glen, love the letterheads shirt idea. I'm in, where do I send the $?
Pierre, I refuse to comment on the thong thing, although I will say that I now know who to thank when I have nightmares.

OK, I'll see what I can pull together over the next week. Once that is done, I will seek Steve and Barb's approval and work out the details for how payment is handled before I proceed. It may be a couple weeks before anything is announced.

ok....idea....one better then the apron, a lightweight SIGNMAKER VEST with all kindsa pockets!!!!!!!
Posted by Ken Henry (Member # 598) on :
Nobody has suggested a "fanny pack", but then maybe that's a wise choice, considering the size ranges that might be required.
Posted by pierre (Member # 1462) on :
Shouldn't be a problem, Ken. Three basic sizes and then the axehandle goups.
Posted by Joel Peters (Member # 622) on :
I would love to order 2-3 Letterville shirts! What a great idea.
By the way Roger, thanks for your kool shirt. Along with the ol'One Shot, I use Rapid Tac products exclusively.

I love the Letterville shirt idea!! Would sweatshirts be ok to add in there, too? I LIVE in sweatshirts in the wintertime!!
You can definately put me on the list... not like Letterville means anything special to me...
Posted by Fernando Ocampo (Member # 2133) on :
I'll take three if you let design it. if not wise i'll buy'em.

Glenn, Great Idea! Letterville t-shirts! I will buy 3. I bought a PKing original apron at the Dixie Letterhead Meet at Commerce,GA a couple of years ago. I use my apron when I don't want to get paint on my good clothes,Pat Also I think the Dixie Letterhead t-shirts that Sonny screened would be killer too! Judy

CJ...People don't read others replies alot of times..... BUT I LOVE those splatter overalls...!!! They are just too cool.
Posted by AdrienneMorgan (Member # 1046) on :
CJ...most of my clothes look like Pat King's line of clothes after a while!!haha
I'd like to have something with an interesting design on it or Letterville logo....
I wear my WALLDOG JAM apron a lot, reminds me of what a great time I had in Canada last summer.
An apron is a great item to have, big deep pockets to hold those stray stabilos, a vinyl squeegee, and !OUCH!, that razor blade!!! OooOOOooow!

CJ wanted me to post these pics for him...
here ya go cj...
Posted by Joey Madden (Member # 1192) on :
Well Mark, you got the picture! at least those photos remsemble sign makers clothing which resembled the original post rather then a scoungie undershirt. oops I mean T-shirt! I could see signmakers clothing worn at work, whether over-alls or some pant and golf shirt set-ups. As a former real clothing designer, I would never consider a T-shirt being the main object of the original post. But then again I always felt that you can't polish a turd.
Can you just see going to a luncheon at a resturant with a perspective client, customer wearing a tank top or an undershirt?
Posted by AdrienneMorgan (Member # 1046) on :
Can't polish them, Joey, but I hear they can be guilded!!
That's CJ's little girl modeling the paint wear! What a beautiful young lady!

Get so annoyed in signshops watching people trying to find pencil/rule/cutter etc.
Been wearing overalls for 37 years : everything in its place : pencils/rule/can opener/squegee/note book/cutter/sand paper/rag/mobile phone : during apprenticeship would be sent home if all above were not in place

Don Hulsey had golf or polo style shirts with his name embroidered on them at Pat's meet. Looked nice to me to wear talking to customers but not too dressy (if you know what I mean). Maybe if we have some embroiderers on here, we could get a nice little design done on those style of shirts too for selling type stuff. Whatcha think?
Oh yeah, I'm with Dana. sweatshirts would be awesome for those of us who are up here where it's freaking cold.

Yes, on the sweatshirts:make sure they are the really "soft" fleece on the inside. Yes, on the tshirts, can we have some 100%cotton?, they are a wonderful feel too (just have to watch for the first shrink). Yes, on the splattered paint clothing, and I bet it would make a great skirt, Yes on the aprons with deep pockets, always can use them and they do have many several functions.

When offering my "Designer" Overalls and Aprons Functionality while working was my main concern. Doing Lunch with customers, calls for a DIFFERENT costume. Although when meeting customers on job sites for measurements and quotes. The overall/apron takes the guess work out of who is who. All them "SUITS" look the same to me!
Maybe my post about Sign-Bonics who have helped keep this post on track. Seems to me..."Signmaker Clothing"was the issue

What I've wnated to do for sometime is to get some white ties and use them as brush cleaners. I've got a GORGEOUS paper towel that I plan on framing someday. I didn't do it on purpose, but I was working on a little job that had a lot of colors and eneded up with an attractively blotchy paper towel.
Anybody have recommendations of where to find some white neckties I can buy in bulk?
Just a thought.
At least that way you could be dressy and still look like a signpainter. Plus you'll be able to clean stuff up when dressed nice...

Bruce;I bought a "sign painters"tie off of E-Bay Little guy with paint brush, half way finished painting one of the colored stripes.
