Sandee Clause (My Sweety and kids) gave me a digital camera for Christmas.

My printer and scanner occupy the only two USB plugs.

Is there some type of "splitter" contraption one could plug into one without having to install another USB plug?
Are USB plugs hard to install?

Thanks for the help

You want to get a USB HUB. They usually come with 4 ports. Make sure you get one with its own power source. Most are stackable as well, meaning you can plug one hub into another for expansion.

Yup, go with the hub and like Bruce said, get one with its own power source. Some USB devices get their power via the USB port so if you have a bunch of USB devices that require power via the port, you can overload the port. The powered hubs solve this problem.

That's the beauty of a bus, they can be stacked. Good answers Bruce and Mike.

I've noticed on the boxes of some digital cameras, that they do not recommend being plugged into a hub. I have a kodak dx3500 and mine recommended to be plugged in straight to the computer usb port and not a hub device. Wondering why?

TigerDirect has a whole bunch of them ranging from 2 port to umpteen ports and from $9.99 to $159.99.

Some of them are self powered some use power from the PC and others are internal.

Since I'm seriously considering adding some more RAM, I might just install an internal one while I have the tower open.

Thanks everyone.
