It's been a not so great Christmas....I got sick last Friday, lost my voice completly (to the delight of some) I can't even take my daughter who came from Seattle to lunch or some shopping....she had to head back today....I was feeling so bummed.....then the UPS guy shows up with what he called "A substantial package" and do I know what it might be?

I had a clue when I saw it was from Grant's Pass Oregon.....and then I remembered Michael Boone saying I might get 'something' from Santa when I was painting the walls of thier 1800's farmhouse earlier this summer.

I am now the PROUD owner of a brand new, shiny, KILLERKART!!!

THANKYOU, Shirley and Michael, I want you to know What wonderful friends you are!

I can't wait to take it for a drive around the shop!

God Bless you both!!

Adrienne

Hey A...

Those murals are beautiful. Having seen the inside of the Boone house (and partaken of Michael's incredible potato salad), I can see that the murals have made quite an addition to it.

I love the fact that the house was built with stones heaved up on the banks during the digging of "Clinton's Folly".

Aren't the Boone's just too awesome?!?

Have a great one!

Bruce, the Boone's are the most gracious people!
I was made to feel like family,...and that house is facinating...
I'm hoping Michael has a meet someday so we can paint the side of that old barn!!
(hint hint)

Those mural pictures are of "in progress"? Looked pretty done (very well) to me.
The stone work of that wall ... LOVE THAT

Thanks Mark...I was almost finished...but I would love to see the whole thing with teh furniture back in place.

Seeing as you are in the area, why don't you go by and take a look at it in person...and while your there, would you take a couple of pics for me.

I'd really like some closeups of the details in the depiction of Mike's shop and the barn.
(If you look closely, you will see a barn owl in the barn's upper window.)

BTW...I tried to depict the farm and buildings as they might have looked in the 1800's

Very nice work Adrienne! And I love stone houses.

New motto? "Have KillerKart, Will travel!"?

Glad your fingers are still working even if your voice is on vacation.

Get well soon,
Debbie

Thanks Donna...thanks to you, I've begun collecting the artwork of Lowell Herrero, and anything with barns and farmlife!

Did you know he was a local artist? He lives in Napa, just a few miles from me.

wait till you see what I have in mind for my kitchen cabinets....if I ever start them....!

Michael,

Do you guys make wine? I'd call it:

Boones Farm!

Adrienne,

Killer Kart.... I mean... Killer Mural!!!

Adrienne,

That is really a nice addition to a beautiful home.

I'm curious what room that is. I'm also wondering if Michael's sign shop is in the barn? How far out of town is your farm? Inquiring minds want to know!

I think it is great that you share your talents so willingly with other folks Adrienne. What goes around, comes around! Have a great New Year.

Suelynn

SUE!! Does that mean you'll come to MY house and paint??!! COOL!
Thanks, I'll fix up the guest room! haha...

Michael's shop is that tiny building at the bottom of the page...I wish I had a closeup photo of it.
It's across the street from the house, so he walks to work every day!
(Only he was nice enough to drive me back and forth so the skeeters wouldn't eat me alive)
His two beloved dogs are also in the picture.
The mural is in thier dining room.

And yes, he DOES make wine....and brandy....I hear it's good, but never tried it (hint hint)

Suelynn...
Thankyou for your kind words.
Our home is about 3 miles outside a village of about 5500 people. My lil town is located about half way between Syracuse and Rochester NY.We live about 3 miles from the south shore of Lake Ontario. When the cold winter winds blow across the warm Great Lakes..we get what is known as "lake effect snow".Buffalo NY is less than 60 miles away...they had in excess of 80 inches of snow in a few days....We only have seen a dusting a few times. If the wind direction shifts...we may get the same thing. The Eastern side of Lake Ontario is where the foothills of the Adirondack Mts are located....they are the targets for the last few days..anyway...happy winter..
Yes indeed.....Adrienne did a great job on the mural.
Its the dining room area....we knocked out the wall between the kitchen and dining rooms...so its all one big open area now.The dining room has maple hardwood floors....
The furniture is back in place...we added window dressings....a tight plaid cloth draped across the top with rafia ties....
I have a Postal Telegraph clock that has been re-jeweled and keeps perfect time hanging just above the cow section.
There is an antique pine cupboard on one side...it still wears its original milkpaint finish.
If you will click on the cow painting....you will see a fine portrait of "Whitey"...she was intended to become hamburger......but ...alas.....she won my heart and became a pet.....it was difficult to figure a plan to keep her alive....HEY..this is easy.....I just keep her pregnant.....!And keep another lady cow with her for company.
Whitey is munchin on a mouthful of fresh cut clover..Adrienne went with me to cut fresh greens for the "girls"....we cut about a pickup truck full each day and fed em.....they get sweetened grain each day...and in fall...I pick em a 7 gallon pail fulla apples......boy.....do cows love apples!And........FREE fertilizer for the flowers..You never saw Canna Lillies grow like when ya feed em cow dukie!
My shop is about 500 ' from home..just far enough away so's my customers dont come to the house.
Its an ideal setup......
Happy New Year to All
Adrienne....come back n finish the trees.....free moonshine awaits!I cant ship that @#$%!!!!!..Its combustable!!!

Adrienne, I was thinking the same thing. But I was not going to touch that one!

Michael, Can you talk your way out of that one?

Adrienne,

I'd LOVE to come and paint at your house; trouble is, you might not want me to ! You're so dang talented yourself!

Actually, I'm pretty good at quite a few faux finishes, and I love decorating. Maybe someday we could work something out!

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Sue
