Went to save a file in Corel 9 today and the "File" menu is gone! There are only "View, Tools & Help available when no document is open. With a document open, there is a small Corel balloon logo on a document icon, followed by the Edit, View, Layout and other standard menu items... Any idea what's wrong?

Hmmm.....Never heard of that problem before. Try hitting Ctrl+S or Alt+F then A and see what happens.

Just solved it...I removed the SignTools demo program that has been there for several months with no apparent problems, and my "File" menu is back!
Thanks for reading and responding. Man, it's amazing how many glitches and bugs I have found that nobody else has ever heard of before...

This is on of the bugs that I have found, and it drives me nuts...
To get it back, all you have to do is:
1. Press <control> J (opens your options menu) 2. Select the + beside "Customize" 3. Select the "Menus", and you will see the menus option open up beside the drop down menu. 4. Select the "reset" key, and then the "OK" tab.
It will prompt the alert "Reset 'Main Menu' to default application settings?"
5. Select the "YES" key, and it will be back.
Let me know if this does't work, but it should.

i also had problems after installing SIGN TOOLS DEMO...emailed them and they give me the std song and dance.."its not our program, and its operator error" b.s. i deleted em..and nothing helped. fdisked and rebuilt hard drive...took care of SIGN TOOL DEMO PROBLEMS.
