Just finished a new website for myself ... now have to start over. Slick ass dhtml/ssi site (I loved it... now hate it) Worked in all browsers on my hard drive but crashes in netscape from the server But even that's not my real concern ... it's that I used a scrollable layer for content which loads all the content BEFROE displaying it ... and 10-15 seconds is a lot in web time. I'm so frigg'n po'd at myself. But I degrease... Anybody not using NS want to see it? It's pretty slick (I used to think so ) http://www.slamgraphics.com/newindex2.html
Luckily I was smart enough to put all content in server side includes so all I have to change is the layout. All hand coded by the way ... maybe I ought to just use a woosywig next time

Hey Mark . . . I think you should keep going with the dhtml. Don't dump it. Anyone that can't wait or understand the 15 seconds ain't worth wanting to hang around suckin up your bandwidth.
I go to your site at least once a week. It's one of my favorites.
Maybe you should return the url to us-uck.com

Mark..You know I am a fan of any website work you do!
I checked it out on Netscape and IE and it looks the same in both to me.
Speed is not a prob..the site and link loaded VERY fast. I have DSL and anymore there are more and more folks who have cable or DSL...

Just got netscape back open after crashing the instant I hit enter from your home page. Can't say I wasn't warned, but I agree there is still enough netscape users to not leave it like that. I'll check it out later from explorer.

Mark, I love the site! And I'm on a dial-up, loaded plenty fast for me. Really like the work, and those scroll buttons! cool.

Thanks for the encouragement. I knew maybe some browsers may have trouble, that's another reason why I used server side includes ... to make multiple versions that I could update all versions from the same files at the same time. It's the "hang" on some pages that really bugs me. If I can figure out how to put a (loading content please wait) graphic that disapears after loading I may keep it. Just as long as there is something going on at all times so it doesn't look like it just died.
Dave, all good in NS6? I only tested on 4.7.
Brian, once a week? I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. (another reason for server side includes ... I have so many files going on I sometimes forget what the heck I did on every page if I haven't worked on it in a while.)
I'll let you all know when/if I actually "launch" it.
Thanks Again

Mark...Sorry Netscape 4.7 here too! Online banking told me to NOT upgrade to Version 6 as they had no intention of supporting it for some reason!
