EARLIER THIS WEEK OUR 30" ALLEN DATAGRAPH PLOTTER WAS ACTING UP. WE GOT IT BACK IN OPERATION THANKS TO JOHN MARSH AT THE FACTORY GIVING US THE BEST OVER THE PHONE TECH SUPPORT. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TROUBLE IF IT WAS DEAD FOR TOO LONG. WE HAVE AN OLD GERBER 30 INCH S750 (THE ONE THAT YOU STACK WEIGHTS ON THE CUT TOOL) THIS WAS PART OF OUR OLD ANAGRAPH SYSTEM. MY QUESTION IS...DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS DINOSAUR CAN BE HOOKED UP TO RUN OFF A PENTIUM COMPUTER WITY FLEXI SIGNPRO SOFTWARE?

Tony..I would think that as long as the Flexisign program includes a driver for the Gerber and the Gerber has that card thing (not familiar with the Gerbers but know that certain ones needed a card to communicate with a PC program) then it should work just fine.

It is all about drivers and compatible communications...the speed of the computer has nothing to do with it.

No Tony that won't work. You better box that old thing up and send it to me. It is pretty much worthless. All kidding aside Tony. I just bought a Unilink board for my 4B so I could use it to cut out of flexi. Those boards are not made anymore but you can find used ones. I posted on this page and within a day someone from upstate NY e-mailed me and sold me one for $350. He was even nice enough to come to my house and help me hook it up. I believe the same board will hook your s750 up to your PC. Look around and good luck.

Tony,

If it is an s750 which doesn't have it's own "brain" then no it won't run without a 4B driving it. If it is a gs750 which does have it's own brain then yes, it should work with the appropriate card & cable.

I ran a s750 for 2 years off of my 4B just fine.

Also I run my 4B off of a PIII 733mhz every day.

Those are fine machines, a bit slow but they never ask for time off!
