Hi Steve..I have an outline of my car..would that help you? My car has the best outline that I know of!

Do you want a bitmap pic? do you want a vector outline? do you want a whole collection of bitmaps? do you want a complete vector collection of vehicle outlines? (if THAT is what you want..you are probably asking in the wrong place)

Seriously..Ask the question a little more specificaly and you may get some specific answers!

Also..Steve..if you REALLY want serious answers..take the time to fill out you signature file completely by using the "my profile" feature at the top right of the page.

Hey Steve, Hang in there buddy!
I did my signature file, awhile back, before they upgraded this BB. I can't even tell you how to do it right now.

Do you need the outlines for client presentations or laying out vehicle graphics?
Have you thought of using a digital camera and a yardstick taped to the client's vehicle?

That's what I'm gonna start doing soon as we can afford one. Was holding out for a Sony Mavica but can't swing one right now. The cheap, lo res ones will probably work for that though.
Good luck

if you're looking for the typical CD full of outlines to help you design some graphics for a particular make and model, SummaDirect offers a really nice one for $69 or $79. (pretty much the same as the one that sells for $399). if you're looking for a generic car picture to use in some graphic (like for an auto repair shop) then i can't help you. you can find a link to Summa in the Letterville Merchants page.

Hi, Steve,

I have used Digital Auto Library out of Canada for the last several years, and while it is a little pricey, it is highly satisfactory to use. The upgrades from year to year are much lower priced than the initial shot, and you get a full-bore program, not just the new models.

Have seen another company's version of this for less money, but I thought that their catalogue was harder to use. Less money though.

If at this time you only need a single vehicle outline the folks at DAL would I think let you have it for a minimal charge.

Hi Steve,
I use Digital Auto Library also. It's great! You can get a Letterhead discount when you purchase DAL too! Christian says they are working on adding the peeper windows(the ones on the passenger door). That will be helpful to me since I letter so many semi trucks.
Good luck on finding the right one for you!
Judy

My digital camera was out of commission for quite a while. It's working now, but I just did this proof today by measuring the few critical areas needed to get my vinyl cutting files scaled correctly & drew this crude scetch. I did 3 other vans for this guy so I didn't have to impress him at this stage.

I'll check out that SummaDirect software though. That's a price tag I can live with.
