I just installed edge prints as wall-covering trim in 2 renovated resort cottages. The interior designers had me re-work some small primative polynesian tree-bark patterns into larger continous trim designs for an accent strip on several walls in high priced, low-tech cottages. They will be subject to high humidity & temperature changes. The rooms are not air conditioned, but full of louvered windows and large sliding doors. Very open-air style cottages.

The rustic prints, & the room design as a whole called for a matte finish print. What I had was Arlon 3 mil intermediate clear vinyl. They love it, & it looks good installed.

My concern is that if the owners go forward with the project to redo all the cottages, it will be my biggest job yet, & I wish I was able to use premium high performance materials.

Does anyone have knowledge or experience to confirm my fears about using intermediate vinyl? or to lay my fears to rest? Any high performance clear materials that have a matte finish & will accept edge printing?

Shame on me Doug, reading your post made me remember the samples I was suposed to send ya.
my computor went thru another hard drive burn out, and I can't find your address, e-mail it and tomorrow I will get this off to you!!

The Rapid Tac II will hold the intermediate, even in the tropics !!

Sorry, Roger

"rapid tac 2 will hold intermediate vinyl"

is this product an adhesive?
or does it make the adhesive on the vinyl stronger?

can i use it as a salad dressing like i can with "Mazeppa Rain" ?

Doug,

Don’t know if any of the following items will be of use to you. Had to use them for TV set work in the past.

Vinyl
Avery A8 Series Matte Clear; A8004-O

EDGE cartridges
Gerber Color Finishing Series (GCF-334) Matte Clear; P66870A

Mark, I'm not sure about the effects of using it as salad dressing, but it may put some hair back on the front of yer head !!
Ha ha ha ha ha.

Actually, it "stimulates the adhesive", more so then "mezeppa rain".

WAIT A MINUTE HERE?????????

Lemme get this straight...Rapid Tac II may put some hair back on the front of Mark's head?

If so..I NEED to know when Rapid Tac III is coming out so I can try it on the BACK of my head!

Or maybe Mazeppa Rain is already formulated to work on the bald spot on the back of a guy's head?

Mark..can you send me a sample of Mazeppa Rain for me to try?

Thanks Bob, that Avery product sounds good. I just ordered a small amount to check out, & show the client.

Roger, see my email, I'll watch for the goodies.
Thanks.

hey roger,

it might put hair on the front of my head, but i would rather pee in a windex bottle and add a coupla drops of joy dishwashing liquid and call it application fluid.

is it a hair remover also?

another question roger, what do you mean when you say,

"it stimulates the adhesive"

There is a "skin" that covers each tiny, tiny bead of adhesive(hence the name "preasure sensitive").

Rapid Tac and Rapid Tac II soften this skin, makeing it easier(less preasure)to burst the tiny beads(even in very cold climates).

If the fluid you use does not do this, you only have a "posistioning fluid" and not a "application fluid".

Good question Mark, many will gain from it !!

Thanks, Roger
