Is it possible to line a gym floor with vinyl?
I just had a client ask me to quote on using vinyl to mark courts on a vinyl composition tiled gym floor. I have my doubts that sign vinyl
would be durable enough. Has anyone ever successfully applied vinyl striping/logo to a gym floor?
I'm thinking paint would probably work better if it was cearcoated well. I've noticed that normally court lines are incorporated into the actual tiling. Any thoughts or ideas?
You might want to try using vinyl screen ink thinned out a bit or even try deka. Hell, Butch Anton swears that stuff will stick just about anything... Just a thought.
Have a great one!
The thickness of vinyl would scare me away. What about any overlaps? Cleared could reduce the liability. If one kid tripped and the lawyers ever got into it, guess who'd be part of the suit?
It seems like it might be a lot more expensive to do it with vinyl also.

Buffalo Plains has redone a lot of their gym floors and they redid the one in Lumsden. They used 1-Shot to do the lines and I used the same for the school logo. They clear coated over that.
Has held up really well.
