Fall is a time of change for us. The summer business has been tucked away for the winter. The repairs and touchups are all done and the flowers have been pulled and the beds turned.

This is the best part of our business now... the fact that each season brings a different set of activities and opportunities. I love change!

I have been gathering ideas and sketches all summer. And now is the time to put down all my ideas and dreams on paper. Both for us and our clients. Designing is fun!

I have returned to my desk (it is there somewhere under that massive pile of papers) While I enjoy my time at the desk immensely, I will try to do a little more exercise often.

It is time to settle into the house we moved into last spring but only camped in until now. Summer is a very busy time.

Now our days are a little more leasurely at last.

And as I now have time to be a little more organized there are a few things that can't be put off any longer.

The most important is a personal issue. With the hectic pace of the summer I haven't taken the time to eat right, especially lately. The fact that my jeans are getting kinda tight proves this to me every morning. So I have to either go shopping for new clothes or fix it. So starting today, it is my resolve to take the time to fix this.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds by Christmas. I don't want to diet. Rather I will eat more correctly. The grocery store is 5 blocks away. I'll walk there (instead of driving), past my favorite donut shop (without stopping there) . And I'll shop for some veggies instead. I like salad, really! I'll cut down on the number of Coca Colas I drink each day and have lots more water instead. I'll forgo those second helpings I enjoy so much but always regret later.

I believe that one's weight is a state of mind and a whole bunch of little purposeful decisions rather than just starving one's self.

Gonna be fun!!

Stay tuned for progress reports.

Who else is up for salad?

Fall is beautiful in Seattle (when it isn't pouring!) I went out and cleaned the gutters...and raked a few leaves. But that got old real fast~~~ so I fired up the lawn mower and MOWED the rest of the leaves and dumped them in my compost pile. Piled our firewood close by the back door......ready to rip.

Hi there Dan.....good luck with your project on yourself. When I need to loose a few lbs. I eat fruit more often. I also got a juicer and juice carrots or apples once in awhile. I think everybody has a weight that they feel their best. Good luck at reaching your goal. Besides.....WALKING is FUN!
