Just a subject and event that should enthuse a lot of you, as it was the era that elevated the arts to a great level if not the greatest...... I'm going to my second event, near Kansas City today where they are celebrating their 25th aniversary. I will be sitting with grog in one hand and a turkey drum in the other watching the Perigren falcons work the fields. The jousting event is the most rugged event that I have ever seen in full armour at full speed of stead. I could not believe the contact on this sport. I could go on and on, but just suggest that you try to make one of them, when they are in your neck of the woods. I hope you enjoy this OT subject...Later, Bronzeo

Jack, I remember going to the Renaissance fair in Calabasses in soCal back in the sixties, those days you came by horse and got in free. Of course things were a little different then as almost everyone dressed or undressed for the part. It was such a great event, you almost couldn't wait til next year.
These days in here in Grants Pass Oregon we have a jousting thingie going on during Boat-Nic and our back to the 50's car show complete with full body armour as you specified.

Went to Ren Fair last year, I had a costume many years ago, and wish I had one now...if you go in modern dress you feel kinda like a time traveler...

I bought Jim a cool broad sword at the Scottish Games, we talked about getting costumes and going to Ren Fair, but time and money have been short.

Have fun!!!
