Is there a special vinyl that "shows up" under black lights? Thanks in advance.

Hi Sharon, I would imagine that all the fluorescent range of colors would glow under black Light, but I doubt very much that you would find a white that would glow, but I could be wrong. Back in the "old days" I know there was a special white paint that had to be used under black light. Maybe someone here may know.

Sharron, I have used bleach (clorox) on white vinyl and it has horked for me.. I only used it for one weekend so I don't no how long it will last...hope this helps

there's a (somewhat) new vinyl that glows in the dark. that stuff would be awsome under black light. i don't know if it is available as a self adhesive sign produce or not, but i think it is. (i've only seen it used for glow in the dark stickers).
i'd also suggest putting the vinyl swatchbook under blacklight - there might be some suprises. (certain pigments that might not show in daylight might react under blacklight). i'll do it tonight and let you know. (what? you DON'T have a 4' blacklight in the house?).

Scott, I hate to tell all of you this but there are two black light tubes and a 24 inch mirror ball in our basement! LOL, we used to have a teen club back in the 60's!

Well, i'm not a big vinyl user, so the only swatch books i have are Arlon Calon II and Oracal 651.
the Oracal didn't react at all under black light except the White (010), but it wasn't very bright.
the Calon Series 1750 "neon" colors is the only film that reacts with any real oomph. their series 2750, which also looks like da-glo colors under daylight, DO NOT react under black light.
the colors in the 1750 series that work best are the Neon Yellow (36), Neon Red (31) and Neon Pink (32). Neon Orange and Green are "secondary". The 1750 series is only rated for 3-6 months.
So, if you're going to get "tricky" with it (ie, outlines, drop shadows, etc), you better get a black light and do some panel tests. otherwise, just stick to a single color (because all the "regular" color theory about what works with what goes out the window).
(now i've got some ideas to explore for ravers... i'm gonna check which banner materials do the best, and which are the flattest blacks, too).

Check into Oracal series 7510. It's supposed to be new. You would still want to have a look at it under UV light(black light)first.
