I downloaded a program called Incredimail, and am trying to set my web based email up through it. I have no trouble receiving the emails, but can't send any out. I have my info right, with the pop3 server and smtp server listed with user name and password so it can access the site. I also tried it with other email programs, but again it will receive, but not send. Anyone got any ideas why?

John,
A few times I have set mine up wrong by not paying close attention to the
incoming (POP3) address outgoing (SMTP) address
for example the format is: mail.yourserver.com
I have incorrectly put: mail@yourserver.com and this has caused a problem like you have.
Just a thought.
How do you like Incredimail?

another lil ole thang to check...when they ask for your user name, some o' them thar proggies want the "@blahblah.blah" in that answer, and some do not. call techie and ask to walk ya through...or email em if ya don't get any straight answers from us, that fix the problem.
Good luck!

I am completely bamfoozled. I have tried everything. The mail receives perfectly, but when I try and send out, it comes back cannot connect to server. I contacted my website provider, and he tried it on his machine and it worked. Won't do it here though. Something is wrong somewhere, but I can't find it. shoot.

I feel for you. I am having the same problem. I can get it from different people but not send.
At this time, you cannot use other e-mail programs to get or send your Juno e-mail. For this reason, Juno's POP3 and SMTP mail server addresses are not available.
Oh Well, guess I will live. But at least I can stop looking now. Debbie

John, If you have more than one e-mail account that you are recieving from, you can only send outgoing on the one set to default. If you send an e-mail to one of my 2 other e-mail accounts, I cannot reply back to you unless I choose that account as my default. After replying, I have to change back to my real default. bronzeo

Thanks to all for replying and help. I don't usually give up on something, but this time I think I will. I uninstalled the incredimail program and tried to set it up through outlook express. Again, it will receive, but not send. Has to be something with my webhost that they don't know about, cause they can't figure it out either. It would make it much easier to be able to access the account through a mail program, so when I click on a mail link, I can send right from there. As it is now, I have to go to my web based mail and go through the procedure. Ah well, all things are not easy.

I had the same problem using Outlook Express with my online studies at UOP. I could not send. Both UOP and my ISP used Outlook Express and they seemed to be conflicting in some way. I continued using web access only.

John,
Are you connecting through your ISP's account?
This is required for their SMTP server to function.
For example: If I connect through @home (cable access) I can download from all accounts and send through my @home smtp server.
However, if I try to send through Prodigy's SMTP server (even though I have an account!) it will refuse the mail unless I am on a Prodigy dial-up connection at the time.
FWIW, I looked up deatondesigns on WHOIS and found KIH.net as your technical contact, looked on their support page and the SMTP server to use is smtp.kih.net (all lower case). If this doesn't work then the problem is that the server is rejecting your IP address for some reason.
Technology: a fancy name for stuff that doesn't quite work yet.

Mark, You can fix that problem, by moving your default to the one you want to send on. The info is a couple of posts back that way. bronzeo

So far, nothing has worked. I have tried everything listed above, and more, but to no avail. It has to be something on my machine I think, but I can't trace it down. I have tried it through Incredimail, Outlook Express, and Eudora light. None of them work on the send. My webhost who lives nearby, tried it using my info, and it worked perfectly for him. Apparently, it is something with the way my computer is sending it out. Right now though, I give up. I'll try again another day. Thanks to everyone.
